The Marketing Coordinator II supports the company’s sales and marketing efforts by coordinating the development of proposals, qualifications packages, award submittals, presentation materials, and other client-facing deliverables. The Marketing Coordinator II collaborates with business development and operations teams to gather information, develop content, and ensure materials are aligned with branding, strategic messaging, and pursuit objectives. This role manages the local marketing database, coordinates basic pursuit video efforts, and interviews staff to develop resumes, project sheets, and related content. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to exercise discretion, prioritize competing deadlines, and contribute to the execution of marketing and business development strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Producing Request for Qualifications/Request for Proposal (RFQ/P) responses, award submittals and presentation materials
  • Meeting with the Business Development and Marketing team to discuss strategic initiatives
  • Developing a layout for a proposal in InDesign and inputting information
  • Interviewing project team members for value-added information to improve proposal response
  • Leading a proposal kickoff meeting with the project team
  • Updating resumes and project sheets
  • Assisting in editing, assembling, printing and filing of qualifications, proposals and presentations
  • Coordinating client interview preparations like travel and meeting rooms
  • Managing the marketing team’s supplies and equipment
  • Collecting and entering information into our project database
  • Assisting in internal and external event planning

Education and Experience:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, construction management, archetecture, civil engineering or related discipline OR 8 years equivalent experience plus a minimum 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in the Architectural, Construction, Engineering (AEC) or similar industry
  • Proven expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven experience in a position demonstrating time management, organization, writing, proofreading, and editing

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the Architectural, Construction, Engineering (AEC) or similar industry

Has demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Pursuit Deliverable Development: Leads/develops strategic client/customer responses, outreach and presentations through strategy sessions, persuasive writing, page layout, storyboarding, slide development and rehearsals.

Has a basic understanding of:

  • Brand Ambassador: Follows brand guidelines and trains others as needed to reinforce Skanska’s brand regionally, nationally and internationally
  • Knowledge of Skanska/Industry: Demonstrates an understanding of industry fundamentals, Skanska organization and resources available to ensure efficient and accurate deliverables.
  • Market Research-Marketing: Conducts/facilitates market research on local, national and global markets related to priority industries, specific clients/customers/market sectors, competitors and adjacent impactors (regulations, etc.) and leverages to support work winning.
  • Marketing Database Management: Conducts/facilitates market research on local, national and global markets related to priority industries, specific clients/customers/market sectors, competitors and adjacent impactors (regulations, etc.) and leverages to support work winning.
  • National Marketing Collateral: Leads collaborative development of assets/collateral from idea generation, content creation, obtaining appropriate buy-in to posting/delivery and long-term maintenance of asset.
  • Technical Writing – Marketing: Produces strategic, clear and concise written content either from interviewing, researching or editing/customizing existing content.

Has a limited understanding of:

  • Competitive Analysis-Marketing: Conducts regular competitive analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of industry competitors and adjusts marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: Leverages Skanska regional and national resources to assemble, lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, enlisting individuals with needed technical expertise to respond to inquiries on specific topics.
  • Pursuit Management: Analyzes client needs and applies market knowledge to support overall pursuit or market sector strategy. Implements strategies to increase overall positioning and win rates.
  • Strategic Planning – Marketing: Collaboratively develops and implements annual or long-term planning to increase market penetration and reach target audiences through continuous improvement of marketing processes and deliverables.

The Physical Side of the Role: This is primarily a desk-based position with extensive computer work and prolonged sitting, up to 100% of the time. You can expect limited standing and walking—generally up to 25% on even surfaces. The role requires visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work, including near and far vision, color vision, and depth perception. The typical noise level is quiet. The work environment is predominantly indoors in climate-controlled spaces, with occasional time (up to 25%) in areas that are indoors but not fully controlled or outdoors under cover. The position includes significant desk time for tasks such as computer work, document review, and meetings.

Work Environment/Conditions: This role is performed primarily in an office setting. The environment includes typical office noise levels and frequent work at a computer workstation, in conference rooms, and in shared collaborative spaces. Vision requirements include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Activities and responsibilities may involve prolonged sitting, as well as periodic walking, standing, light lifting/carrying of office materials, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists. Occasional travel for meetings or training may involve driving or flying.
