The Marketing & Communications Manager leads Diversion Hub’s marketing and communications efforts and helps tell the story of our work, impact, programs, and community partnerships. This is a hands-on, mid-level role that blends strategy and creative execution. This role is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies across digital, print, media, events, and organizational communications, paired with hands-on writing and visual design work, executing day-to-day content needs. This position offers versatile creative ownership across Diversion Hub’s marketing and communications and is ideal for someone who can see campaigns through from idea to creation of the final product. Time will be divided between strategy and planning (25%), writing (25%), design (25%), and execution and other logistical duties (25%).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

• Develop and implement an annual marketing and communications strategy aligned with the Diversion Hub’s mission and priorities.
• Manage social media strategy and create content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other appropriate platforms, including content for the Breakfast Hub and expansion sites.
• Manage and update the organization’s website and develop new web content.
• Develop and distribute the Compass newsletter and other email communications.
• Write and coordinate press releases, media communications, editorials, public-facing statements, and other organizational communications as needed.
• Respond to and appropriately route inquiries received through the organization’s public communications channels.

CONTENT & FUNDRAISING

• Create and coordinate marketing materials including brochures, handouts, flyers, posters, presentations, and digital content.
• Lead the development of the annual report and other organizational publications.
• Plan and execute marketing campaigns for major organizational initiatives, events, awareness months, fundraising efforts, and special projects.
• Coordinate communications for recurring campaigns such as Second Chance Month, Giving Tuesday, and other initiatives.
• Support marketing and communications for special events, including launches, data walks, warrant clearings, and other public-facing activities.
• Manage Diversion Hub merchandise marketing, inventory, and sales and support online and print fundraising campaigns.
• Other duties as needed.

Qualifications: Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, nonprofit management, or a related field required.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field required.
• Proficiency with basic to intermediate graphic design required (proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other platforms).
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, and project management skills required.
• Experience managing social media, websites, email marketing, and digital content required.
• Experience creating marketing materials required.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively across an organization required.
• Experience with photography or other technical skills preferred.
• Experience with technical tools (Buffer, Squarespace, Meta, others) preferred.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit over long periods and be able to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl climb stairs, lift and or move items of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have an excellent command of the English language and grammar, both verbal and written. Must be able to operate and use a computer manually. Must be able to hear and understand telephone conversations.
