Job Description

About Cognita:

Cognita is a global leader in independent education. Founded in 2004, we are a growing community of 90 schools in 21 countries across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, serving more than 100,000 students. Each of our schools is proudly unique, but we are united by our shared purpose: to create an environment where everyone can "Thrive in a rapidly evolving world".

About the Role:

An international school group in the Zurich area is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager to support the visibility, positioning and student recruitment of its schools across Switzerland.

Working across a portfolio of distinctive international and bilingual schools, you will develop and deliver engaging marketing and communications activities that bring each school's unique story to life. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines strategic planning with practical implementation, including content creation, social media management, school communications, events, local marketing, and the production of visual content.

Working closely with admissions teams, school leaders and marketing colleagues, you will help strengthen brand awareness, support enrolment growth, and ensure a consistent and high-quality experience across all communications and marketing activities.

We are seeking a candidate based in the Zurich area to join us in a part-time (80%), permanent position. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing and communications plans that support enrolment and strategic priorities across the Swiss schools.
  • Create engaging content for websites, social media, newsletters, campaigns, presentations and other communication channels.
  • Manage organic social media activity and content calendars across the school portfolio.
  • Produce and coordinate school stories, photography, short-form video and other visual content.
  • Develop and maintain marketing materials, prospectuses, presentations, signage and recruitment assets.
  • Support the planning and promotion of Open Days, enrolment campaigns, programme launches and school events.
  • Manage website content and identify opportunities to improve the prospective parent journey.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing colleagues on SEO, GEO, campaign activity and conversion optimisation initiatives.
  • Monitor marketing performance, gather market insights and recommend improvements based on data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Ensure all activity aligns with brand, safeguarding and data protection requirements.

Who We Are Looking For:

You are an experienced marketing and communications professional who enjoys combining creativity with practical delivery and can confidently manage multiple priorities across a varied portfolio of schools.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in marketing, communications, content creation or brand management.
  • Excellent writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage different audiences.
  • Experience developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications plans.
  • Strong content creation skills across social media, newsletters, marketing materials, photography and short-form video.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Strong visual judgement and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365, content management systems, social media platforms and content creation tools.
  • Experience using AI tools to support research, content creation and workflow efficiency.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German, ideally at C1 level or above.

Reporting to the Head of Admissions & Marketing, you will work closely with admissions colleagues, school leadership teams, the Digital Marketing & Performance Manager and stakeholders across the wider Cognita network. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, hands-on marketing professional who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in an international education environment.
