Marketing & Communications Director

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Environment: On-Site | Hybrid

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8: AM – 5:00 PM

Salary: $70,000

Lead Strategic Marketing Efforts That Make a Difference

DRTC is seeking an experienced, innovative, and mission-driven Marketing & Communications Director to lead all agency marketing, communications, public relations, brand management, fundraising communications, and community engagement efforts.

This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that increase awareness, strengthen community partnerships, support fundraising initiatives, and drive growth across DRTC's programs, services, products, and business lines. The Marketing & Communications Director serves as a member of the administrative management team and works directly with the Executive Director/CEO to advance the organization's mission and strategic goals.

The ideal candidate is a creative and data-driven marketing leader with experience in branding, public relations, digital marketing, content development, social media strategy, website management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Marketing & Brand Leadership

  • Develop and implement annual marketing and public relations plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Lead strategic marketing initiatives across all DRTC programs, services, and business operations.
  • Promote brand awareness and maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels.
  • Manage media planning, advertising campaigns, social media marketing, email marketing, and digital outreach efforts.
  • Analyze campaign performance and provide ROI reporting, market research, and strategic recommendations.

Communications & Public Relations

  • Serve as the agency's primary marketing and public relations leader.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, community partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Write, edit, proofread, and distribute press releases, media communications, and promotional materials.
  • Identify and pursue community partnership and promotional opportunities.
  • Ensure all communications accurately reflect DRTC's mission and commitment to serving individuals with disabilities.

Digital Marketing & Content Management

  • Oversee website content, functionality, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Manage social media platforms and digital communications strategies.
  • Maintain CRM systems, marketing databases, analytics, and reporting tools.
  • Direct the creation of marketing assets including brochures, flyers, presentations, advertisements, and website content.

Leadership & Department Management

  • Supervise:
  • Digital Marketing Specialist
  • Communications Specialist
  • MarComm Apprentices/Interns
  • Manage day-to-day Marketing & Communications Department operations.
  • Develop and oversee departmental budgets and resource allocation.
  • Train, mentor, and develop marketing staff.
  • Monitor department productivity, project timelines, and quality standards.

Events, Grants & Fund Development:

  • Provide oversight for agency events, including annual awards programs and anniversary gala celebrations.
  • Lead sponsorship development, event promotion, and community engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate grant-writing activities and maintain relationships with funding agencies and grant-writing partners.
  • Serve as Chair of the Funding Development Committee and provide leadership, reporting, and strategic direction.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of marketing, communications, public relations, or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of branding, digital marketing, social media, website management, and public relations.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License required.
  • Ability to pass OSBI, MVR, DHS Registry, and other agency-required background screenings.
  • Must maintain eligibility under agency MVR guidelines.

Preferred

  • Experience with grant writing and grant management.
  • Experience with CRM systems and marketing databases.
  • Nonprofit, fundraising, or community engagement experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Regular use of computers, communication tools, and office technology.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment.
