Job Description

This role is a unique position focused on brand and channel management along with business development activity across key brands within the Industrial Wood portfolio. Our brands are marketed to cabinet, furniture, architectural millwork, and other wood OEM shops both directly and in partnership with external distributors throughout the U.S. and Canada. This role requires an experienced marketing leader with a broad set of customer-facing and project execution skills who can help accelerate growth, market share, and profitability.

Additional Information:

This role will require 20% travel.

This role is not remote/hybrid. This role will report Sherwin-Williams Cleveland Global Headquarters located at 1 Sherwin Way, Cleveland, OH 44115

  • Lead Assigned Brands’ Strategic Planning, Voice of Customer, and New Product Ideation Efforts

    • Document and present brand plans that establish brand mission, key objectives, internal and external assessments, product roadmaps, channel strategy and initiatives, and digital and other brand communication strategies.
    • Drive research and voice of customer initiatives to gather key market and competitive landscape insights.
    • Work in partnership with Sales, Product Management, Marketing Communications, and R&D to gather internal insights and ensure proper awareness of and alignment to brand plans.
    • Lead regular business updates documenting current results, key initiative progress reports, and market updates/insights.
    • Manage annual marketing budgets and spending accountability.
  • Drive Execution of Assigned Brands’ Key Initiatives in Collaboration with Product Management, R&D, Sales, and Marketing Communications Teams

    • Manage Associated Products portfolio, driving strategy across all channels
    • Document annual brand communications plans and drive project execution through Marketing Communications team.
    • Lead decisions on make-up of marketing merchandise program, mobile showrooms, loyalty programs, and other key support programs.
  • Market Engagement & Sales Support
    • Lead and support key business discussions (annual plans and quarterly reviews) to secure new launches, expand programs, and increase sales performance.
    • Capture and apply market insights to identify growth opportunities and remove barriers to conversion.
    • Develop and implement performance scorecards to track progress against growth targets and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.

  • Sales Enablement & Support

    • Equip internal teams and partners with high‑impact selling tools, training, and digital assets that accelerate conversion and drive revenue.

    • Partner with Marketing Communications to deliver clear, compelling materials that strengthen the sales story and improve field execution.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must be willing to travel as the position requires (20%)
  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Marketing or other business concentration
  • At least five (5) years of business development, brand marketing, channel marketing, product management, or distribution channel sales experience with a successful track record of driving sales and profitability growth, particularly with national marketing programs sold through diverse channels.
  • Must have experience demonstrating ability to develop insights and relationships with internal and external sales partners as well as end use customers.
  • Must have significant experience creating and executing strategic growth initiatives, including new product innovation and location expansion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an MBA
  • Have multi-Channel experience
  • Have Business-to-business (B2B) Industrial Marketing or Sales experience
