The Marketing Category Manager – Heavy Duty is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving growth, innovation, and brand performance across a portfolio of heavy-duty products—including coolant, antifreeze, performance fluids, and diesel exhaust fluids—across North America. Operating at the intersection of marketing strategy, product management, and technical expertise, this role defines the category vision, shapes portfolio and pricing strategies, and leads end-to-end innovation from concept to launch in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. It supports both B2B and aftermarket channels—including fleets, industrial segments, retailers, and OEMs—while developing impactful marketing programs, tools, and campaigns that strengthen brand equity and accelerate sales. Combining analytical rigor with creative execution, the role plays a critical part in positioning the organization as a leader in the heavy-duty and industrial fluids market.
Position is based at our Rosemont office and will require 3x/week on-site working each week, with a 20% travel expectation.
The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $130,000-$160,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
• Develop insightful fact-based business updates.
• Define the vision and establish a clear portfolio approach (inclusive of sku rationalization) across the different brands.
• Manage Innovation working in tandem with cross functional teams (PMO, R&D, Legal, Regulatory, etc.).
• Lead label designing and packaging process.
• Create marketing tool kits to support aftermarket sales team (Brochures, Sales sheets, website, selector tools, etc.).
• Lead & attend trade shows for Heavy Duty in both US and Canada
• Work effectively with advertising, promotional, research agencies, consultants, vendors, etc.
• Analyze market research and business reports, interpret data, identify trends and make recommendations.
• Creative & Analytical mindset to demonstrate successful project management, marketing B2B campaign planning & execution on LinkedIn and salesforce, B2B marketing tool kits, cross functional team interaction, new product launches (with metrics).
• product development working in close collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, R&D and Packaging to launch and set-up innovations.
• Budgeting, pricing strategy and margin management.
• Briefing agencies (research, packaging and advertising), in evaluating their work and giving feedback.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
• University degree in marketing/business management, MBA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Excellent technical aptitude with understanding of products specifications and usage, experience in new product development and launches.
• Brand building, product management, & marketing experience in the heavy-duty industry (on and off road).
• Experience in B2B, aftermarket industries (trucking, mining…) and Industrial (HVAC, Data Centers…).
• Experience with retailers (Tractions, FleetPride, Fort Gary…) and OEMs (John Deere, Mack/Volvo…).
• Good working knowledge of Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong ability to quickly learn tools to effectively run analysis (ex: PowerBI, D365…).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create presentations and to present to small groups as well as large audiences.
• Good written skills for creating business plans, proposals, internal reports.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, pricing strategy and margin management.
• Experience in briefing agencies (research, packaging and advertising), in evaluating their work and giving feedback.
• Strong proficiency in digital, social media and e-commerce as platforms to reach consumers.
