Job Description

Sheladia Associates, Inc. (Sheladia), a minority-owned business established in 1974, is an engineering and architecture firm supporting U.S. government, state and county projects, as well as U.S. funded international projects and multi-lateral donor bank and host-country funded projects.

The Marketing & Business Development (MBD) Manager is at the center of Sheladia Associates, Inc.’s (Sheladia) MBD Department acting as the liaison for all coordination and implementation efforts and activities of the Department. They are responsible for the ownership of the MBD Department’s processes and plan implementation, data analysis and management, budget management, performance and overall quality control. The MBD Manager will lead improvement and futurization efforts, driving impactful change and expansion to meet the dynamic needs of the company and the ever-changing landscape of marketing and business development tools and practices. Provides direct supervision to business development team members.

  • Implementation and oversight of the company’s MBD plan as provided by CEO and Division Managers.
  • Management of MBD Department budget.
  • Identify and track prospects and key opportunities related to target clients and markets as identified by Division Managers.
  • Support the development and implementation of capture strategy.
  • Perform teaming and competitor analysis, and develop Sheladia key differentiators.
  • Management of the MDB Department’s processes and implementation for prioritization and preparation of proposals/responses for domestic and international efforts.
  • Lead effort “kick-off” meetings and provide high-level oversight of proposal development and progress.
  • Final product review and quality assurance, and ensure timely submission of all responses.
  • Facilitate post-submission debriefs and capture lessons learned.
  • Evaluation, development, and utilization implementation of MBD tools, including AI proposal development plan, for consistent process and systems improvement aligned with best practices and technology enhancements.
  • Oversee Department data and knowledge management, including PDS finalization.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with Prime/partner counterparts, and grow network.
  • Manage MBD team networking events plan and attendance.
  • Management of Sheladia’s marketing materials such as literature (brochures, pamphlets, flyers, etc.) and company website; partner with appropriate parties on company’s social media plan and presence.
  • Partner with and provide support as needed to the company’s federal team marketing and business development efforts.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant marketing and business development experience, preferably in the A&E sector, with proficient knowledge of domestic and international contracting vehicles and clients.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of proposal development experience in preparing responses to requests for proposals (RFP), expressions of interest (EOI), requests for information (RFI), etc
  • Minimum of four (4) years managing a business development team with a successful record of achievement.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and respectfully both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and attention to detail.
  • Customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to new and/or unplanned situations to meet the dynamic needs of the company.
  • Strong computer skills: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel.

Additional Information

Proposed Salary: $110-135k annual, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Sheladia Associates, Inc. has made the best effort to accurately represent the pay range for this position, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and any applicable cost of living data relevant to the position/candidate.

Other compensation: opportunities for annual increase and bonus, and other types of bonuses.
