The Role:

We’re seeking a versatile Marketing AutomationLeadwith experienceleveraging the Salesforce Marketing Cloud ecosystem toown the tech delivery strategyand execution ofdynamic and engaging email campaigns,robustmarketingjourneysandautomated messages (email, SMS, push notifications)to reach clients and prospects with the right message, at the right time. Reporting to the Director of Go-to-Market,you’llmanage the intake, requirements gathering, documentation,strategy ofdevelopmentand deliveryofMarTechinitiatives.

This role is accountable forthe day-to-day marketing automation management & execution, whilealsodefining how we engage clients across the lifecycle and building the journeys that deliverbusinessoutcomes. It combines lifecycle strategy, CRM architecture, and hands-on campaign execution to drive measurable improvements in conversion, engagement, and retention.

What You'll Do:

LifecycleTechnology Strategy

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business priorities into automated journey frameworks, triggers, and sequencing logic

  • Establish segmentation and personalization strategies across B2C and B2B audiencesand work withSalesforcedevelopmentteams to understand and define the data that will power these strategies

  • Identify and prioritize lifecycle opportunities tied to conversion and lifetime value 

  • Work closely withMarketing & Growthteams tomonitorlead management and conversion workflowsvia automated reporting and action items

  • Identifyopportunities to integrate marketing journeys within the digital ecosystem including our website,myMedcan(secure client portal)and client experience 

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Build and deploy multi-channel automated campaigns (email, SMS, push) in Salesforce Marketing Cloud 

  • Configure journeys using Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and audience segmentation  

  • Develop and execute trigger-based messaging based on lifecycle events andbehaviouralsignals 

  • Own end-to-end QA, testing, and deployment of CRM communications 

  • Leverage emerging technologies and best practices tooptimizecampaign performance

Performance & Optimization

  • Establish benchmarks for campaign performance, createand own dashboards thatmeasure lifecycleKPIs: conversion, engagement, retention, and funnel progression 

  • Analyze campaign performance and identify optimization opportunities 

  • Execute A/B testing and iterative improvements to improve outcomes

  • Translate insights into both strategy updates and execution changes

CRM, Data & Platform Management

  • Own the day-to-day operation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud including data hygiene, system updates, monitoring, troubleshooting,complianceand best practices foroptimalperformance

  • Build and maintain audience segmentation using CRM dataand SQL 

  • Ensure data quality, consent compliance (CASL), and database hygiene 

  • Manage integrations with Salesforce ecosystems (Sales, Service, Health Cloud)  

  • Developand implementa robustroadmap of Salesforce Marketing Cloud ensuring that we are maximizing our investment in the platform andleveragingrelevant features

  • Proactively advise on Salesforce best practices, including journey orchestration, data model design, automation, and performance optimization to improve campaign effectiveness and efficiency 

  • Write andmaintainclear technical and business blueprint documentation for all projects

  • Thoroughly troubleshoot reported issues through regular monitoringand liaise withinternal stakeholdersonclient-reported issues (ie clients who report they did not receive appointment reminders)

Vendor & Delivery Management

  • Manage external partnersincluding Salesforce account management team,and/orSFMC agency partners and consultantswhere required

  • Ensure quality, timelines, and performance of agency-delivered work 

  • Reduce dependency on external support by strengthening internal capability

Requirements:

  • 5-8+years’ experiencewithSalesforce Marketing Cloud or similarmarketing automation, CRM, or Lifecycle Marketing tools

  • Proven ability to own bothtechnicalstrategy and hands-on execution within automation platforms 

  • Experience with AI tools/agents 

  • Significant depth of knowledge and proven experience in marketing and multi-channel communicationsacross the Salesforceecosystemincluding Journey Builder(intermediate to advanced)and AI/agents

  • Strong data segmentation and management (SQL preferred)

  • CRM integration experience (Salesforce preferred)

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners, able to partner andinfluence to driveprojects to completion.

  • Experience inHTML, CSS,Ampscriptand other related technologies to support personalization, integration and dynamic campaigns are considered a strong asset

This is a full-time position working40 hoursper week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday – Saturday (9AM530PM). Our downtown Toronto clinic is convenientlylocatedat 150 York St., which is nearbyOsgoodeandSt. Andrew stationsor a 10-minute walk from Union Station

Position Pay Range

$85,122.00 - $117,042.75 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives. ​
