and Scope of Responsibility:

The Marketing (Advancement) Associate supports the school’s marketing, communications, and development efforts under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications, while working in close partnership with the Development team. This role is responsible for executing day-to-day marketing initiatives—including digital/social content, publications, and event promotion—while also providing critical operational support for fundraising activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications (approximately 80%):

  • Assist with the execution of a social media strategy that aligns with the strategic marketing goals (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn).
  • Produce weekly emails and the bi-weekly newsletters in Finalsite (website management platform). This includes utilizing Canva and ideating bi-weekly content in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications, and writing recaps of school events.
  • Produce graphics and copy for communications and materials for key school events and programs, including but not limited to those involving students, current families, prospective families, and donors.
  • Take photos and videos at key school events for marketing purposes, and produce content for distribution via social media and other channels.
  • Monitor website performance using Google Analytics to identify trends and provide data-driven recommendations for content updates and user experience improvements.
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain the Bernardzell.org website, including updating outdated pages, and creating new pages as the need arises.
  • Taking direction from the internal stakeholders and with support from the Director of Marketing and Communications, create/design: print & digital advertisements, direct mail, and promotional materials. Partner with external vendors and manage projects in a timely manner.

Fundraising (approximately 20%):

  • Track donor data across all fundraising efforts
  • Generate development reports including weekly dashboards, statistical analysis and giving trends
  • Manage all gift processing, solicitation, acknowledgement, and invoicing efforts across campaigns and giving platforms
  • Conduct regular database record maintenance, resolve system problems that may significantly affect business operations, and communicate procedures to ensure proper resolution of system issues
  • Manage financial reconciliation processes such as the month-end close with Business Office and the reconciliation of merchant services accounts associated with online transactions
  • Support all development and advancement events with an emphasis on the Annual Fundraiser
  • Support the Advancement department and larger school community with other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Experience with graphic design tools for use in digital, print, and website marketing; experience with Canva preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in managing and maintaining a CRM database preferred.
  • Experience in organic social media marketing; experience with paid advertising preferred.

  • Ability to think outside the box and identify ways to optimize assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to supporting the mission of Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside of business hours to support events.
  • Additional desired qualifications:
  • Experience with content management systems (particularly Finalsite).
  • Knowledge of Jewish community, culture, heritage and traditions.
