This role is ideal for a highly creative professional who combines strong writing and storytelling abilities with graphic design, videography, social media, and brand management expertise. The successful candidate will help tell the stories of lives being transformed through our ministries while ensuring all communications reflect the organization's mission, values, and brand standards.
SUMMARY: The Marketing & Communications Specialist is a creative storyteller responsible for developing compelling content that advances the mission and visibility of Christian Children's Home of Ohio. Working under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Manager, this individual will create engaging written, visual, and video content across multiple platforms and brands.
Target audiences include current/prospective donors, church leaders, business/community leaders, other agency & government leaders, volunteers, and the internal CCHO/Encompass/Encourage community. Your work will directly contribute to the agency's ability to best care for the at-risk, traumatized children in our residential program as well as the adults, children, and families served in our other ministries.

- Content Creation & Storytelling
- Identify, develop, and share impactful stories that highlight the mission and outcomes of the organization.
- Conduct interviews with staff, clients, donors, volunteers, and community partners to create authentic, mission-driven content.
- Write and edit content for print, digital, video, web, email, social media, newsletters, and fundraising campaigns.
- Create compelling messaging tailored to specific audiences, including donors, churches, community leaders, and internal stakeholders.
- Graphic Design & Brand Management
- Design high-quality marketing materials including brochures, flyers, event materials, signage, presentations, digital ads, social media graphics, and publications.
- Maintain consistency in messaging, design, and brand presentation across all platforms and ministries.
- Videography & Photography
- Plan, capture, and edit videos that tell the stories of the organization's mission and impact.
- Produce testimonial videos, event recaps, promotional content, and social media video assets.
- Capture and edit photography for marketing campaigns, publications, events, websites, and social media platforms.
- Manage digital media assets and maintain an organized content library.
- Social Media & Communications Support
- Assist with website content creation, management, and updates.
- Create web graphics, landing pages, and online communication assets.
- Collaborate with internal departments to develop communication strategies that support organizational goals.
- Events & Special Projects
- Provide photography, videography, and communication support for organizational events.
- Occasionally work evenings or weekends to support special events and ministry activities.
- Assist with vendor coordination, planning, production management, and print ordering.
- Attend trainings, meetings, and conferences to continuously expand professional knowledge, develop new skills, and remain informed of emerging industry trends and best practices.
Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong content creation experience across print, digital, video, and social media channels.
- Graphic design skills with experience creating marketing materials for both print and digital platforms.
- Web design & development experience a plus, particularly with Wix and Wordpress.
- Experience creating engaging social media content, including graphics, short-form video, and written content. Experience with videography, video editing, photography, and multimedia storytelling.
- Strong understanding of branding principles and brand stewardship.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, and After Effects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, public relations, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, content creation, graphic design, videography, public relations, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, and hear, including a requirement to stand or walk for extended periods of time, sometimes through uneven terrain. This would include but is not limited to agency events.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to use computer. Dexterity required to regularly use a computer mouse.
- Ability to talk and hear, required. Ability to sit for up to 60 minutes at a time.
- Occasionally required to help lift and move materials for special events, up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle legally and safely in the state of Ohio or have reliable transportation to travel to attend meetings, dinners/banquets, etc.
