The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Curtin Singapore’s brand strategy, communications efforts and public relations initiatives to support student recruitment objectives. This role must ensure Curtin Singapore’s brand position is communicated consistently across all platforms to achieve high awareness of Curtin Singapore as a globally recognised, regionally relevant university of choice for students, staff, and communities. The incumbent must manage all communication channels to reach and effectively engage target student segments and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and delivery of brand and content strategy that promotes Curtin Singapore’s mission, vision, and values to key audiences, and ensuring consistency across all platforms, materials, and communications.
  • Lead the creation and execution of an integrated marketing and communications plan with a focus on generating leads to support student recruitment strategies.
  • Establish an intelligence-led approach to all planning and delivery, utilising market research and data analysis to ensure tactics are in line with Curtin Singapore’s needs and strategic ambitions.
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content that supports Curtin Singapore’s strategic vision and engages various audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Curtin University marketing teams to ensure that the Curtin Singapore marketing programs adhere to Curtin policy and procedures and all content is aligned with the university's tone of voice, style guide, and brand guidelines.
  • Ensures all marketing and communications materials are compliant with accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing all creative resources: managing the design and delivery of all internal and external collateral, merchandise and content, including promotional brochures, gifts, photo and video assets, campaign artworks, email communication, and social content, amongst others.
  • Collaborate with the Navitas marketing and production teams and external agency partners, as required, to ensure all Curtin Singapore promotion and recruitment materials are developed effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Manage Curtin Singapore’s digital presence, ensuring it is consistent with branding and communication strategies.
  • Lead Curtin Singapore’s social media strategy and manage platforms to engage and grow online communities.
  • Monitor social media trends and measure the impact of campaigns, adjusting strategies for optimal engagement.
  • Work in close liaison with colleagues across Recruitment, Admissions, Student Services and Faculty to ensure the University benefits from impactful, strategy-led activities across campaigns, outreach, PR, and events.
  • Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors’ activities
  • Assist in the development of crisis communication plans and serve as a key point of contact for internal and external messaging during crisis situations.
  • Write and present reports, written and verbal, to the Senior Management Team and the University.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as determined by the EXCO.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in brand management, communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably in the Singapore Higher Education sector.
  • Experience creating and executing large-scale marketing campaigns, targeted digital and social efforts and more.
  • Experience working within an enterprise-level brand structure and with teams of creative professionals.
  • Knowledge of crisis communication and issues management.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
  • A strong comfort level with digital strategies.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress or similar platforms
  • An ability to meet long-term project deadlines while adapting to immediate demands.
  • Experience establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
  • A proven track record of time management and self-directed leadership.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Additional Information

Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including travel for events, conferences, or stakeholder engagement purposes may be required.
