Job Description

The Marketing and Communications Lead is the creative engine and executional hub of Pele Energy Group. This role is responsible for bringing the Group’s brand to life across every channel and touchpoint, from integrated campaign execution and content production to public relations, digital marketing, and external events. Sitting at the intersection of creativity and delivery, the Marketing and Communications Lead will lead a team of designers, copywriters, and social media specialists, ensuring that all creative output is on-brand, strategically aligned, and produced to the highest standard.

Requirements

Campaign Execution and Creative Production

  • Receive, interrogate, and execute campaign briefs from the business, ensuring all campaigns are produced on brief, on brand, on time, and within budget.
  • Lead and manage the creative production process end-to-end: from creative concept development and asset briefing through to final delivery across all relevant formats and channels.
  • Brief, direct, and quality-control the work of the in-house creative team (designers, copywriters), providing clear, inspiring direction and maintaining high creative standards across all output.
  • Commission, brief, and manage external creative, production, and print suppliers where in-house capacity requires augmentation, holding all partners accountable to brief, budget, and deadline.
  • Ensure all creative output, whether produced in-house or externally, is reviewed against brand guidelines before publication or distribution.
  • Maintain a master creative asset library, ensuring all brand materials, templates, and campaign assets are organised, up to date, and accessible to the wider team.

Internal and External Partnership Activation Support

  • Receive structured activation briefs from the business and translate them into fully executed marketing deliverables, including event collateral, co-branded content, social assets, and PR coverage.
  • Manage the Group’s presence at external industry events, conferences, and exhibitions coordinating stand design, collateral production, team preparation, and on-site execution.
  • Ensure all co-branded and partner-related marketing output adheres to Pele’s brand standards as well as any agreed co-branding guidelines from the partner.
  • Produce post-activation content packages, photography, video, social coverage, and written recaps, that capture and amplify the value of each partnership activation across the Group’s owned digital channels.

Content Development and Market Intelligence

  • Develop and manage the Group’s content calendar, coordinating content production across the team to ensure a consistent, high-quality flow of owned content across all platforms
  • Oversee the Group’s social media presence, guiding the content production team on platform strategy, content tone, posting cadence, and community management across LinkedIn, Instagram, and other digital platforms.
  • Manage the Group’s website content, ensuring pages are current, well-written, and reflect the Group’s brand positioning; coordinating with external developers for technical updates where required.
  • Ensure search engine optimisation best practices are embedded in all digital content production, working on search and discoverability priorities.

Public Relations & Media

  • Write and distribute press releases, media statements, and executive commentary in response to business milestones, industry developments, and Group announcements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and media contacts across business, energy, and trade publications, proactively pitching stories that build the Group’s media profile.
  • Develop and maintain a suite of key messaging documents, Q&A sheets, and spokesperson talking points to ensure consistent, well-prepared external communications at all times.
  • Lead crisis communications execution, drafting holding statements, coordinating rapid-response messaging, and managing media enquiries in accordance with the Group’s reputation management protocols.
  • Monitor media coverage and brand sentiment across news, social, and industry platforms, providing the team with regular coverage summaries and flagging reputational risks or opportunities.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5–7 years in integrated marketing, brand management, or marketing communications, with a mix of agency and corporate experience strongly preferred.
  • Education: Postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a creative team.
  • Strong creative judgment, able to distinguish between work that is on-brief and on-brand versus work that misses the mark, and to articulate feedback constructively.
  • Demonstrated experience managing integrated campaign production across digital, print, social, OOH, and events.
  • Solid understanding of PR, media relations, and crisis communications best practice.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables across a busy, fast-paced marketing function.
