We currently have an exciting opportunity in the Marketing Accounting group. As a Marketing Accountant, you will be primarily responsible for the accounting of marketing deals and transactions, working closely with the Marketing and Property Accounting departments, analyzing marketing transactions for invoicing and the impact on netback pricing and related accounting. Strong technical, analytical, organizational and communication skills are required, along with an excellent work ethic and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Gather information, accurately calculate, and analyze netback pricing for various marketing streams, including crude oil products, natural gas and NGLs. Prepare journal entries within E1 to record Netback accounting monthly
  • Review marketing contracts and counterparty invoices to determine their impact on netback pricing for respective product streams
  • Review product sales and purchase transactions, accurately generate invoices for settlement, and follow-up with counterparties to resolve any discrepancies
  • Liaise with Marketing and Property Accounting departments to ensure marketing transactions are accurately accounted for on a timely basis
  • Maintain desk procedures and identify continuous improvement opportunities for assigned product streams
  • Respond to ad hoc queries from management and various departments

What You Bring to the Role:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • An accounting or business degree is required
  • A self-starter with excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze results, present accurate results, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EnterpriseOne
