Victorian Post Acute is seeking an experienced, energetic, and relationship-driven Marketing & Public Relations Director to lead our facility’s marketing, census development, community relations, and public relations efforts.

This is a key leadership position for someone who understands healthcare marketing, enjoys building strong community relationships, and can effectively represent a skilled nursing and post-acute care organization to residents, families, referral partners, healthcare professionals, and the broader community.

General Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to develop, coordinate, direct, and administer Victorian Post Acute’s marketing and public relations programs and services The Director will play an important role in maintaining and increasing census, strengthening referral and community relationships, promoting the facility’s programs and services, and ensuring that information shared with the public is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable privacy requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing & Census Development

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct facility marketing and public relations programs designed to maintain and increase census.

  • Promote Victorian Post Acute’s programs, services, accomplishments, and community involvement.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, referral sources, community organizations, civic leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Participate in community and civic organizations to increase facility visibility, engagement, and charitable involvement.

  • Coordinate with news media regarding positive facility developments, new programs, events, and promotions.

  • Monitor media coverage and keep the Administrator informed of public information that may affect the facility.

Public Relations & Communications

  • Ensure all public-facing materials—including brochures, information packets, manuals, newsletters, announcements, and other communications—are accurate and current.

  • Organize and maintain effective internal communications through bulletin boards, newsletters, committee meetings, announcements, and other appropriate channels.

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, professionalism, and positive emphasis throughout the facility.

  • Provide creative marketing and communications support to the Activities and Social Services departments for resident programs, events, and publications.

  • Schedule and participate in departmental and committee meetings related to marketing and public relations.

Privacy, Compliance & Resident Rights

  • Develop, maintain, and periodically review written policies and procedures governing the release of information concerning residents, employees, and the facility in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations.

  • Interpret and communicate facility policies regarding information release to employees, residents, families, visitors, and government agencies.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all resident information, including protected health information (PHI).

  • Interpret and communicate resident rights to residents, families, and staff as appropriate.

  • During emergencies, establish and coordinate a public relations area to ensure information is released accurately and in accordance with facility policies and applicable requirements.

Customer Experience & Quality

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and tracking of customer and resident satisfaction surveys.

  • Work collaboratively with department directors to support marketing and public relations policies and procedures.

  • Establish strong interdepartmental relationships and ensure staff understand their role in supporting the facility’s marketing, reputation, and customer experience.

  • Review marketing and public relations policies annually and recommend updates as needed.

Leadership & Administration

  • Prepare and manage the Marketing/Public Relations departmental operating budget in collaboration with the Administrator.

  • Assist with planning and conducting in-service training, orientation, and on-the-job training related to marketing and public relations.

  • Serve on facility committees as directed by the Administrator.

  • Maintain a current listing of resident care employee phone numbers.

  • Follow all facility safety, ergonomics, confidentiality, and operational policies, including policies related to lifting, repetitive tasks, and equipment use.

The ideal candidate is a strategic healthcare marketer and exceptional relationship builder who is comfortable representing a post-acute care organization in the community. You should be confident communicating with families, healthcare professionals, referral partners, community leaders, employees, and media representatives.

  • Comfortable working with leadership, interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families
