Job Description

About NRG

NRG is a leading global insights and strategy firm at the confluence of content, culture, and technology. We stay ahead of what’s next, providing fresh insights to spark new ideas. We’re a trusted partner to our clients, working behind the scenes to bring imagination, depth, and clarity to their biggest challenges—in entertainment, technology, lifestyle, sports, and gaming. Together, we create with confidence.

We’re proud of our company’s values – these values guide us as we navigate sunny days, gray skies and everything in between:

  • Do what you love. With conviction.
  • Where discovery lives. And impact drives.
  • Celebrate difference. Cultivate belonging.
  • Big thinking. Collectively inspired.
  • Embrace the journey. Be human.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and inquisitive Research Manager to join NRG’s team supporting the NFL, working primarily onsite at the NFL offices in New York City. This dynamic team partners with the NFL to understand and enhance the NFL gameday and season ticket member experiences across all 32 of its clubs. This role will be working alongside another Research Manager to support all aspects of the program.

This is a rare, front-row seat to the business of football, offering the unique opportunity to embed within the NFL’s headquarters and directly influence the strategy that shapes the fan experience for all 32 clubs. If you’re passionate about research; if you enjoy visualizing data and discovering insights with confidence; if you’re passionate about sports and the NFL- this opportunity is for you!

Your Impact

  • Drive all phases of game attendee and season ticket holder satisfaction surveys for the NFL, including research design, questionnaire development, data analysis and reporting
  • Ensure strong quality control at each step of the research lifecycle, from checking survey programming logic, questionnaire proofing, dashboard accuracy, number checking and proofing reports and presentations for accuracy
  • Manage the day-to-day project management, ad hoc requests and communications with NFL clubs, internal NFL stakeholders, email execution, and ticketing analytics teams
  • Act as a liaison between NFL stakeholders and internal NRG team members to help communicate requests to various teams (e.g., data processing, dashboard and development)
  • Create weekly in-season presentations to NFL clubs and internal stakeholders to review survey results and end of season reports for each club

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience – We’d love for you to have 3+ years’ experience working in consumer research, or in an analyst/strategy role at a sports company (ideally some combination thereof, but supplier side experience is a must).
  • Your degree(s) – Ideally looking for a B.A./B.S. degree in areas such as Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Market Research, Statistics, Economics or a related field. Additional degrees are welcome!
  • Onsite Role Candidates are required to work a minimum of 4 days per week out of the NFL’s NYC Headquarters (345 Park Avenue), with a preference for those who can work onsite 5 days a week.
  • Passion for sports and research – An enthusiasm for research, data driven approaches, and strategic thinking. You live and breathe all things sports and enjoy staying up to date on industry trends and developments. Small talking or deep diving on sports fuels you.
  • Client-centric – Proven experience nurturing and building relationships with clients, understanding their goals and ensuring we deliver on those and confidently providing strategic guidance to them.
  • Synthesis and storytelling – You craft reports that tell stories, not just report data. You synthesize the results into just what the client needs to know, and then construct a narrative-driven report that tells the story in a succinct and compelling way.
  • Leadership – You can mentor and inspire junior team members.
  • Problem Solver – You are a natural problem solver. When something doesn’t go as planned, your first instinct is to look for a solution, rather than viewing it as a roadblock. You’re always on the lookout for new ways to accomplish tasks and have the ability to address issues using creative and collaborative tactics.
  • Data analysis techniques and software – Familiarity with any of the following data analysis techniques would be awesome: statistical significance testing, drivers analysis, correlation analysis. Experience with statistical programs like SPSS or Q, are a plus.
  • Curiosity and critical thinking – You are genuinely interested in seeking information on the “whys.” You have the ability to address issues using creative and collaborative tactics.
  • Data Driven – You’re comfortable working with data to identify trends and insights. Experience visualizing data and working with Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Clear and Proactive Communicator – You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are able to communicate clearly and succinctly. You’re comfortable asking questions and sharing your point of view.
  • Self-starter – Internally-motivated who continuously strives to get things done well, regardless of challenges encountered.
  • Expert multitasker – Successfully manages time and multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are always met. Staying organized is a must as you will be in constant communication with 32 clubs!
  • Hawk-eyed attention to detail – You notice when font sizes change unexpectedly or a proper noun isn’t capitalized. Errors don’t get past you and you are always focused on ensuring high levels of quality control and reporting.
  • Great Team Member – Team player who works collaboratively and harmoniously within a team and across teams. You welcome feedback because you have a zest for learning and growing. You will roll up your sleeves to help get the job done and no task is beneath you.

This is a full-time, exempt role. This role requires candidates to be available for regular onsite presence at the NFL Headquarters in New York City (345 Park Avenue).
