Job Description

Role Purpose:

This 10 month maternity cover role will need candidates to successfully manage the end-to-end delivery of client projects, in line with client objectives and expectations. Taking the lead as the project manager and working closely with the Research Director / Engagement Manager (EM), this role will serve as the key point of contact for the project, taking it from commissioning to delivery. This will involve methodology design, managing client relationships, throughout the term of the project and managing the project team. The Research Manager may also be responsible for development of junior members of the team and in supporting internal projects to develop CHR ways of working and infrastructure.

Key Accountabilities:

Project & Task Management

· In partnership with the EM, drafts a robust project plan, to include key milestones / delivery points

· Maps out the research and output needed to complete the project

· Confident in developing high quality fieldwork materials to address client objectives

· Demonstrates best practice in research execution including moderation skills and analysis

· Demonstrates creative and powerful report building skills

· Conducts secondary research to validate design and analysis, monitors client’s competitor environment to update both the client and project team of any significant news updates

· Responsible for the supplier relationship and ensuring project budget is adhered to

· Leads the analysis of research insights and development of a clear and meaningful narrative for the client

· Accurately forecasts resource and capacity needed to deliver the project, in partnership with the EM

· Monitors project progress against the plan, identifying any risks / red flags and informing and/or involving the EM as appropriate, including impacts to budget

· Manages the project team to ensure rigor and quality of fieldwork and data analysis, in line with the client’s strategic objectives

· Conducts project reviews at the close of every project to ensure key learnings from the project are captured

· Provides formal feedback to all team members at the close of the project

· Collaborate with internal and external experts to apply both traditional and complex methodologies and bring new and dynamic ideas to the fieldwork design

· Provides insightful, impactful and commercially relevant recommendations to the client which have tangible outcomes from the project for the client [CSY1]

Client Management

· Acts as the key point of contact on the project, addressing any questions/concerns and flagging issues with the EM as appropriate

· Leads project meetings, both internally and externally including project KO and final presentation

· Engages in productive discussion with the client on methodology, analysis and recommendations

· Drives quality outputs to clients by developing and being accountable for all aspects of QC and analysis

· Conducts project reviews at the close of every project to ensure key learnings from the project are captured

· In collaboration with EM/ Research Director, creation of ‘simple’ single workstream proposals, with clear and meaningful rationale for methodology selection

· Ensures and is accountable for client satisfaction throughout the duration of the project

· Creation of ‘simple’ single workstream proposals, with clear and meaningful rationale for methodology[CSY2] selection, and collaborate with EM/RD over more complex workstream proposals

· Appropriately challenges client strategy providing alternate approaches to brand /company challenges

· Leads communication with the client and supporting the identification of client knowledge gaps and potential future projects

Leadership

· Effectively delegates appropriate fieldwork tasks to the project team based on the project plan

· Manages project team members to deliver the project against agreed timeliness and objectives

· Provides feedback to project team members on a regular basis to support their continued development

· Proactively addresses any performance issues in team members, linking in with the individual’s line manager

· Communicates key project updates with project team, to ensure alignment and shared understanding of project objectives/status/final outputs of all project team members

· Mentor & coach junior members of the team, in and outside the project team

· Formal line management responsibilities of junior team members

Requirements

Research Manager Experience

· Degree(s): BA/BS/MS/PhD · Major(s): Life Sciences, behavioural science, business

· Research Manager expected significant market research experience

· Proven track record of effective project management

· Confident in a range of methodologies

· Experience of contributing to proposal development

Due to the customer-facing nature of this role, we anticipate 2-3 days per week on-site in our London office.
