Your role:

As the Market Procurement Manager for Japan, you will play a critical role in supporting our Medical Equipment, Services, and Software business by ensuring that all third‑party products and services are procured with the highest standards of quality, cost efficiency, compliance, and delivery reliability.
Procurement & Spend Management
- Manage €30M spend across 40 suppliers.
- Drive supplier consolidation, strong negotiation practices, and redesign‑to‑cost initiatives to deliver measurable year‑over‑year productivity improvements.
- Boost and maintain the short‑ and mid‑term productivity funnel, ensuring visibility of P&L impact and contributing to sustainable cost performance.
- Safeguard assurance of supply to protect revenue and customer satisfaction.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent and position Procurement with Business Market Leaders, Service Leaders, Supplier Quality, and Legal.
- Act as the single local procurement contributor in a diverse, multicultural environment.
Category, Project & Value Management
- Balance project‑based procurement with category management.
- Promote standardized catalog items.
- Strengthen the Procurement value proposition.
Compliance & Regulatory Assurance
- Ensure 100% compliance with local regulations, Philips Quality Management Systems, and internal procurement policies.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Recommend and implement procurement process improvements.
- Support execution of country‑specific procurement strategies.
Supplier Management
- Perform supply base segmentation, supplier consolidation, risk management, and performance monitoring.
Your Team
You will be part of the Integrated Supply Chain & Procurement organization, reporting to the Market Procurement Leader – International Markets.
You're the right fit if:
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Direct Procurement, Supply Chain, or Project Management in a global MedTech environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field.
- A successful track record in people management, preferably in a multicultural environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of IT system integrators, software/hardware equipment, and installation/repair services.
- Sales/marketing experience is a plus.
- Lean or change‑acceleration certification.
Behavioral Competencies
- Strong business acumen and inclusive collaboration mindset.
- Customer‑first mindset with strict compliance orientation.
- High EQ/IQ and strong influencing skills.
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in Japanese and English (minimum TOEIC 750).
