Job title

Market Manager, Australia and New Zealand

Purpose of the job

Based in Melbourne, the Market Manager is accountable for owning the commercial performance of the Southern Australia & New Zealand market, including revenue growth, margin delivery, pipeline health and major project conversion.

The role leads market strategy, prioritization and execution, coordinating dealer partners and internal MillerKnoll specialists to win complex, high-value opportunities. Acting as the primary point of accountability, the Market Manager ensures market focus is aligned to ANZ, APAC and global objectives, delivering sustainable growth and long-term market performance.

Specific responsibilities

Market Strategy & Leadership

  • Own the Southern Australia & New Zealand market plan, defining priority sectors, target accounts and major project focus aligned to ANZ strategy.
  • Lead market prioritization and resource deployment to drive commercial outcomes rather than activity volume.
  • Provide market leadership through strategic coordination of dealer partners and internal stakeholders.

Major Projects & Commercial Ownership

  • Lead major and complex project opportunities from early influence through to close, acting as the primary point of accountability for commercial outcomes.
  • Influence early-stage decisions with senior A&D leaders, key end users, project managers and strategic accounts to secure specification and conversion.
  • Coordinate internal specialists and dealer resources to deliver winning solutions on priority projects.

A&D and End-User Engagement

  • Engage selectively and strategically with senior A&D leaders, key end users and strategic accounts to influence high-value and complex opportunities.
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives supported by MillerKnoll research and insights to strengthen market influence and brand positioning.
  • Represent MillerKnoll at industry engagements aligned to priority sectors and strategic objectives.

Dealer Leadership & Capability

  • Lead and align dealer partners against defined market priorities and commercial objectives, ensuring focus on high-impact opportunities.
  • Provide field training for dealer sales personnel to strengthen dealer capability deployment against priority projects.
  • Actively guide dealer strategy rather than solely maintaining relationships.

Forecasting & Performance Management

  • Own market-level forecasting accuracy, pipeline health and revenue conversion.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting on major projects and priority opportunities.
  • Accountable for achieving market-level sales targets aligned to ANZ, APAC and global objectives.

Collaboration & Internal Alignment

  • Involve specialist sales and internal resources where required to support complex opportunities.
  • Liaise with manufacturing, supply chain and internal stakeholders to ensure commercial commitments are delivered.
  • Participate in induction and new product training as required.

Resource Management

Financial:

  • Accountable for delivery of market-level revenue, margin and growth targets.
  • Ensure all market activity is cost-effective, commercially justifiable and aligned with approved travel and entertainment budgets.

Human:

  • Direct report to the Regional Sales Manager, MillerKnoll Australia & New Zealand.
  • Works cross-functionally across brands, regions and specialist teams.
  • Flexibility to accommodate interstate and international travel.

Person Profile

Education and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sales opportunities and influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven capability in commercial ownership, strategic selling and major project leadership.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior sales or market leadership roles, preferably within a multinational, design-led or project-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian corporate real estate and project market, with national exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, design or a related field.
  • Furniture, interiors or solutions-based industry experience preferred.

Competences and Characteristics

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Confident market leader who can orchestrate multiple partners toward shared outcomes.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable operating with autonomy.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • High integrity, diplomatic and culturally aware.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; Salesforce experience preferred.

This role provides market leadership, commercial ownership and strategic coordination to drive sustainable revenue growth and long-term market performance across Southern Australia & New Zealand.
