GHD has an exciting leadership opportunity in our operations for the position of Market Leader – Resources (WA/SA) This is a key leadership role working within an energetic and committed team of multidisciplinary professionals to build meaningful client relationships to sustain and grow the Resources market of GHD across Western and Southern Australia.

Working with the WA and SA Regional Market Leaders, you will focus on developing client relationships, business opportunities and brand eminence to build and strengthen our Resources business. This role blends business development with the delivery of projects and providing strong leadership and mentoring to our people.

You will work within an energetic and committed team of multidisciplinary professionals to build meaningful client relationships and to sustain and grow GHD’s Resources market across Western and Southern Australia.

Working on a diverse range of clients and projects within the Resources sector, you will:

• Provide the vision and direction for the Resources Market Sector in accordance with our Australian Market Strategy
• Lead proactive Business Development and Client focused activities as you maintain strong relationships, monitor the market for new opportunities and maintain a growth focus to maximise our success. You will then develop key pursuit strategies, which will involve significant client engagement and leading bid teams to prepare proposals for winning new work
• Lead market activities, collaborating with senior management across the Australia/Pacific Region
• Delivery of iconic projects as Project Director for significant projects across Australia and the Pacific, providing leadership to ensure the successful delivery of projects
• Coach and mentor staff to increase business development capability and client connectivity
• Ensure ongoing success in relation to key metrics and desired business goals, including financial performance and other market deliverables

What you'll bring to the role:

• Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in mining planning, engineering, remediation (or related disciplines)
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in business development tasks for a service company, ideally with technical consulting industry knowledge, strong business acumen and drive for results
• Recognised experience in the WA and/or SA Resources sector (ideally in both design and project delivery) and strong industry relationships
• A strategic, client-centric approach to working, demonstrating a strong network of contacts and clients, ideally within the WA and/or SA resources sector, with proven success in winning business and growing related project portfolios market and / or broader Australian sectors
• Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to influence with or without formal authority
• Ability to travel between WA and SA
• Problem solving skills and sound decision-making ability
