Your Opportunity
Our Buildings practice is looking for a leader to assist with growing Mission Critical Facilities (MCF) Sector. This role you will lead project delivery, sector pursuits and drive strategic market growth across Canada both as a project leader and subject matter expert in a consultative role.
This is a senior national leadership opportunity for an experienced Mission Critical Facilities professional who can influence the operational direction of the sector, shape transformational program and project activities, and help position Stantec for sustained growth in a market of major importance to the organization.
In addition to the external development, we are looking for a leader to inspire our team, represent design excellence, and reinforce the global brand of Stantec.
Aside from the preferred locations listed, this position is open to any location with a Stantec office presence, for the right candidate.
Your Key Responsibilities
Client & Project Focus:
- To be a project leader for the design and delivery of major MCF projects.
- Lead delivery of significant project pursuits.
- Collaborate with technical and managerial project leads to achieve key operational performance metrics including traditional financial metrics Actively contribute to written content in strategic project engagements.
- Mentor and coach next generation thought leaders in this sector.
- Inspire, motivate, and hold the team accountable for the delivery of innovative and sustainable design solutions.
- Provide broad sector influence and senior technical leadership on critical programs, projects, and clients, helping teams resolve complex issues where precedent may be limited and long-term business outcomes are at stake.
Business Development & Collaboration:
- Lead and participate in pursuits and campaigns for major opportunities.
- Develop and grow the MCF sector, helping to attract top tier clients and achieve top line growth.
- Contribute to the thought leadership and brand of Stantec, by sharing our knowledge and innovation stories at key client engagements, industry events and across our professional networks.
- Partner with other leaders to drive collaboration on pursuits across geographies and disciplines.
- Actively contribute to win strategies and successful project execution through being hands-on in key pursuits, client relationship development and project management.
- Collaborate with fellow market leaders and sub-specialists, BC leaders and regional and national Sector Leader’s (SL’s) to develop and leverage expertise across our practice.
- Collaborate on the annual sector plans and budget, outlining the vision, focus, priorities for implementation, and setting specific goals for business performance bringing an informed and forward-looking sub-sector focus.
- Establish, modify, and execute strategic operational plans and objectives for the MCF sector in Canada, aligning client priorities, resource needs, financial objectives, and long-term growth strategies across regions and disciplines.
- Influence the development and execution of sector practices, delivery approaches, and business strategies that may affect immediate operations and contribute to broader organizational outcomes.
Outreach:
- Identify opportunities for Industry and Community Outreach.
- Speak at selected conferences, publish thought-leadership pieces and maintaining active memberships in associations (such as board posts and committee memberships).
- Partner with the Marketing team to develop sector campaigns for Stantec brand recognition through presentation/speaking opportunities, papers, public relations, awards, etc.
- Contribute to and support Stantec client satisfaction/survey program.
- Monitor and advise on sector trends specific to the sub-sector and also cross over into our sectors and markets.
- Solicit and facilitate sharing of industry knowledge.
- Represent Stantec as a nationally recognized voice in Mission Critical Facilities, using market insight, client relationships, and thought leadership to advance sector positioning and support transformational opportunities.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Known and established in A/E/C industry as a leader in MCF.
- Exceptionally strong understanding of the market, including industry trends and industry leaders. Ability to read the market for growth opportunity and stay ahead of competitors.
- Highly specialized expertise with national accountability in Mission Critical Facilities, including the ability to guide complex, transformational programs and influence sector direction across regions, disciplines, and major client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise a high degree of independence, latitude, and judgment in planning, organizing, and leading major program/project activities that have direct impact on critical clients, business operations, and long-term sector goals.
- Strong business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base.
- Strong experience in market assessment techniques, insights, and contacts.
- Demonstrated design acumen and leadership on major projects.
- Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications.
- Proven success in developing new clients, maintaining strong client relationships and delivering long-term value to clients for Stantec.
- An entrepreneurial orientation with strong understanding of the business development challenges of a consulting-services provider.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven success establishing strategic operational plans, managing resources to meet financial and operational objectives, and influencing policies, practices, or delivery models that support sector growth and organizational performance.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in your field
- Professional registration in your field
- 15+ years of experience in Mission Critical Facilities
