A Day in the Life
In an environment of accelerating technological, clinical, and organizational change, the Medical Surgical OU is reinforcing its leadership across two transformational domains: Surgical Robotics and Digital Technologies. As Market Development Specialist for BeNeLux, Greece and Israel you act as a strategic growth catalyst, driving innovation adoption, integrated solution development, and market-shaping initiatives across the healthcare ecosystem of your countries.
A core mission of you is to connect the Western Europe (WEU) Strategy for Robotic and Digital Technologies with the local Surgical strategies and commercial realities, ensuring full alignment, execution excellence, and two-way communication between regional and local teams. Your role requires strong, continuous collaboration with the WEU Digital Technologies organization, the WEU Hugo Robotic Surgery organization, and all related cross-functional partners.
The position combines Market Development, Product Marketing, Clinical & Economic Market Shaping, and Ecosystem Influence, with a significant focus on Urology, but also specialties where structural initiatives are needed to expand patient access, enhance clinical outcomes, and accelerate technology penetration across public and private hospitals.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Lead Country Marketing Strategy for Innovative Surgical Solutions Identify and accelerate growth opportunities across digital, robotic, capital equipment, and service-based solutions by building and executing country marketing plans aligned with WEU Digital Technologies and Hugo strategic priorities, while ensuring full integration into the local Surgical strategy.
- Drive Go-to-Market Excellence and Integrated Value Propositions: Own in-country product marketing requirements for Hugo and TSE and lead go-to-market execution by coordinating commercial, marketing, clinical, customer success, IT/cybersecurity, and project teams to design and promote integrated offerings combining products, software, services, financing, and consulting tailored to healthcare institutions.
- Lead Urology Therapy Development and Clinical Market Shaping Define and execute the national Urology strategy aligned with WEU therapy priorities, developing KOL networks, reference centres, and scientific collaborations while addressing access barriers, improving referral flows, and driving therapy adoption through condition-led initiatives.
- Strengthen Cross-Portfolio Surgical Marketing and Strategic Partnership: Advance One Surgical Marketing initiatives by aligning multiple surgical technologies into cohesive value propositions and identifying strategic commercial, technological, and digital health partners to accelerate adoption and ecosystem development.
- Represent Medtronic within the Healthcare and Innovation Ecosystem Engage with scientific societies, clinical networks, public institutions, and innovation bodies to support policy discussions on digital transformation and robotic surgery, while promoting Medtronic thought leadership through congresses, workshops, innovation roadshows, and customer success stories.
- Lead Communication, Content Strategy, and Community Engagement Develop high-impact marketing and educational content, manage digital campaigns and storytelling aligned with WEU messaging, build user communities (including robotics and capital equipment groups), and establish a Surgical Marketing Communications Hub to support internal and external engagement.
- Drive Strategic Projects and Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across Robotics, Digital, Marketing, Sales, Enterprise Accounts, Health Economics, Customer Success, and Service, contributing to strategic projects such as multi-technology tenders, capital investments, and ecosystem partnerships while tracking impact through KPIs and adoption dashboards.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Engineering or business school degree in marketing, business, engineering, digital transformation, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the medical technology sector, including strong expertise in marketing and capital equipment solutions.
- Excellent understanding of operating room environments, surgical practices, and complex hospital ecosystems, including digital transformation dynamics.
- Proven experience in cross-functional project leadership, partner identification, and collaboration across multicultural teams and organizations.
- Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with scientific societies, healthcare institutions, and public stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem.
- Fluency in English, with demonstrated cross-functional leadership, strategic mindset, autonomy, rigor, and a results-oriented approach in innovation-driven environments.
