Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Develop Market Development presence across the Middle East and Africa, supporting high-growth data center and AI opportunities. The role focuses on priority customer segments and ecosystems, helping translate global and regional strategy into local market development activity and ensuring alignment with broader DCBU priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Market Development presence across priority MEA accounts and ecosystems
  • Support strategic engagement with hyperscalers in the region in alignment with global account ownership
  • Drive local market development activity in neoclouds, GPUaaS, HPC, enterprise networking, sovereign AI, AI factories, OEM ecosystem, MTDC, and enterprise data center opportunities
  • Act as the primary Market Development interface for MEA Sales and Marketing support
  • Provide structured market feedback and competitive / ecosystem intelligence to regional and global stakeholders
  • Support customer and ecosystem prioritization in alignment with broader DCBU strategy
  • Contribute to development of repeatable market plays rather than isolated local initiatives
  • Coordinate across Market Development, Sales, Marketing, and ecosystem stakeholders where needed to support regional execution

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Experience in Data Center, Application Engineering, Market Development, business development, strategic account development, or ecosystem development
  • Strong understanding of data center, AI infrastructure, networking, cloud, or related technology markets
  • Ability to operate across strategic customers, ecosystem partners, sales teams, PLM teams, and marketing stakeholders
  • Good understanding of regional market dynamics in the Middle East and Africa
  • Ability to translate strategic direction into structured regional execution
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Successful track record of performance in chosen field
  • 3-5 years relevant work experience

Geographic Scope

  • Middle East & Africa
