We are experts in trading essentially all listed financial products and asset classes, with a focus on derivatives trading. Through market making and market taking, we handle millions of trading transactions around the world every day, providing liquidity and ensuring competitive prices for buyers and sellers. While our presence in the market is broad, our trading desks are highly specialized, allowing for a deep understanding of unique drivers of each asset class.

We are currently seeking a Market Data Business Analyst to work in a growing, diverse and challenging real-time market data environment. The successful candidate will provide expertise in vendor relationship management, cost management, market data compliance and analysis and change management. They will lead projects related to Market Data governance through the business to successful conclusions and ensure best practice policy and procedure is being followed at all times. The candidate will represent Susquehanna in meetings of Market Data user groups such as iPug and ensure Susquehanna is utilising all available industry standards and knowledge to minimise exposure to Market Data costs.

It is essential that the candidate has a proven track record working in the financial services industry specifically in the Enterprise Market Data domain. They should have experience with Market Data entitlements system(s) e.g. DACS or DART, dealing with exchanges and vendors in the market data space. The successful candidate will be able to analyse the existing cost base for Market Data spend and look for opportunities to reduce it by sourcing feeds from a variety of providers.

The candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience of exchange specific data feeds, and be able to understand and map this to business specific data content and performance requirements. The candidate should also have a good understanding of the trading environment, rules and methodology in use by the major exchanges across Europe and other major global exchanges. They will work as part of a team to respond to audits carried out by Exchanges or 3rd parties, report to senior managers on the outcomes and take any necessary actions resulting from them.

The role will involve working closely with market data engineering, infrastructure engineering teams, application developers, and business users to proactively enhance the market data stability and optimise business performance. The successful candidate will work with colleagues in the US and Sydney offices to ensure homogenisation of global policies and practices where these are possible.

The candidate will liaise regularly with the business and technology teams to provide market data subject matter expertise. Good interpersonal, communication and task management skills are a must and the candidate must be able to work off his/her own initiative to ensure the market data objectives of the business are met to an agreed expected standard.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with business and technology users to understand current and desired market data usage requirements. This may often involve seeking and establishing new business relationships. In these cases, liaise with the business user and relevant internal legal and technology teams to confirm the suitability of the data and intended provisioning, and thereafter to coordinate data procurement.
  • Proactively analyse market data announcements, assessing the relevance and impact to our current market data production environment, highlighting impact to the relevant technology and business teams.
  • Market Data Cost Control Management specifically driving market data cost efficiency initiatives and cost management reporting to senior Management.
  • Market Data Exchange Audit Management
  • Internal Susquehanna Trading Application Market Data Controls Audit Management
  • Vendor Management and point of escalation for Internal Susquehanna Market Data customers.
  • Manage on-going relationships with vendors, to understand impact and prerequisites of Exchange driven changes, work with pre-sales on new Enterprise solutions, and escalate any production or cost impacting issues
  • Build strong relationship with application teams and business leads to understand fine detail around normalized Enterprise data requirements and supply required enhancements where possible
  • Development of inventory, financial and contractual controls for all market data services including report generation for exchanges and management

What we’re looking for

  • 8+ years’ experience in financial markets and applications. Exposure to working with real time market data exchange feeds in a low latency environment is an advantage
  • Strong Market Data Experience and Domain knowledge is essential.
  • Experience in NYSE Technologies market data platform, Bloomberg (terminals, Data License, B-pipe) and Refinitive RMDS software concepts, configuration and understanding of their inner workings
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, and detail oriented, with the ability to think creatively and to communicate with confidence and clarity at all levels
  • Exposure to Project Management is an advantage.
