Job Description

Market Access Senior Manager
Mexico City, Mexico

Shape access for therapies that change lives. In a market where every formulary decision and tender outcome can determine whether millions of patients reach the medicines they need, your work will be felt directly – across institutions, regions and households throughout Mexico.

Your new role

As Senior Field Market Access Manager, you will be the face of Novo Nordisk in front of public and private payers across your assigned region in Mexico. You will translate clinical and economic evidence into compelling value stories that secure access for our portfolio in diabetes, obesity and other serious chronic diseases.

Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing regional market access plans aligned with national strategy, ensuring inclusion of Novo Nordisk products in public institutions (IMSS, ISSSTE, IMSS-Bienestar, state-level systems) and private formularies;

  • Building and maintaining trusted relationships with payers, decision-makers, health authorities, hospital directors and pharmacy committees;

  • Leading the tender ("licitación") process at regional level: monitoring publications, preparing technical and economic offers, and coordinating cross-functional input to maximise win rates;

  • Developing tailored value propositions, budget impact analyses and pharmacoeconomic arguments that resonate with each stakeholder;

  • Identifying access barriers early, anticipating policy and reimbursement shifts, and proposing mitigation strategies to commercial and medical leadership;

  • Partnering closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs and the central Market Access team to align on priorities and ensure consistent execution;

  • Tracking KPIs on access, formulary status and tender performance, and reporting insights that shape future portfolio decisions.

Your new department

You will join the Market Access team in Mexico – a strategic function at the heart of our affiliate's growth ambition. As Mexico expands access to innovative therapies for diabetes and obesity, this team plays a defining role in ensuring that more patients can benefit from our medicines, faster. You will operate in the field, close to where decisions happen, with the autonomy and visibility to shape outcomes that matter.

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for an experienced market access professional who combines strategic thinking with strong execution and relationship-building skills in the Mexican healthcare environment. You bring with you:

  • A bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; a postgraduate degree (MBA, Health Economics, Public Health) is a plus;

  • 5+ years of experience in market access, KAM or government affairs within the pharmaceutical industry, with proven results in public tenders and formulary inclusion in Mexico;

  • Solid knowledge of the Mexican public health system (IMSS, ISSSTE, IMSS-Bienestar, INSABI legacy, state systems) and private payer landscape, including pricing, reimbursement and tender regulations;

  • Strong analytical capabilities to interpret pharmacoeconomic data, build budget impact models and translate evidence into persuasive value stories;

  • Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision-makers;

  • Self-driven, accountable and comfortable working in the field with significant travel across the assigned region;

  • Fluency in Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.
