Why this role
In this role, you will support the development and execution of market access strategies across the Gulf region, helping to secure sustainable reimbursement and patient access for our oncology portfolio across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. You will work closely with regional and local teams to enable timely access to our medicines and ensure their value is recognized across diverse healthcare systems.
What you will do
Access strategy and execution
- Support the development and execution of market access strategies across Gulf markets, covering pre-launch, launch and post-launch phases.
- Contribute to the implementation of pricing, reimbursement and formulary strategies in line with regional and global direction.
- Track and support delivery of key access milestones, including reimbursement submissions and formulary inclusion.
- Support pricing and reimbursement discussions with payers and authorities under the guidance of market access leadership.
Payer and institutional engagement
- Build and maintain working relationships with public health authorities, payer bodies and institutional stakeholders to support reimbursement and access objectives.
- Support stakeholder mapping and engagement planning across the healthcare ecosystem.
- Contribute to interactions with external stakeholders to support reimbursement and access objectives.
Value and evidence development
- Support the development and localization of payer-facing value propositions, reimbursement dossiers and evidence packages in collaboration with Medical, health economics and outcomes research and Commercial teams.
- Ensure materials are aligned with local requirements and internal governance processes.
- Contribute to updates of value materials across the product lifecycle as new evidence becomes available.
Policy and market insights
- Develop a detailed understanding of reimbursement systems and access pathways across Gulf markets to identify barriers and opportunities.
- Monitor policy, pricing and reimbursement developments and support translation into actionable insights.
- Support generation and use of market research and payer insights to inform access strategies and decision-making.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with Market Access, Government Affairs, Medical, health economics and outcomes research and Commercial teams to support integrated access plans.
- Contribute to alignment across stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of access strategies.
- Support coordination of cross-functional deliverables to ensure timely execution of access plans.
Global and regional alignment
- Support adaptation of regional and global access strategies, tools and frameworks to local market requirements.
- Provide input on local market dynamics, challenges and opportunities to regional teams.
Capability development
- Contribute to strengthening market access capabilities across the organization by sharing insights and best practices.
- Support internal awareness and understanding of market access principles across functions.
Governance and compliance
- Ensure all activities and materials comply with internal governance processes and applicable regulations.
- Maintain high standards of compliance in all internal and external interactions.
What you will bring (minimum requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, health economics, business or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5–7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, including significant market access experience within the Gulf region.
- Experience in oncology market access strategies and payer engagement.
- Understanding of reimbursement systems, tender processes and payer environments across Gulf markets.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders, including payers and policy makers.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
- Willingness and ability to travel across Gulf markets as required.
Preferred experience
- Advanced degree in health economics, public health, pharmacy or business.
- Experience in developing health economic evidence (for example cost-effectiveness models, budget impact analyses), value dossiers or market access materials.
- Track record of successful reimbursement approvals and formulary listings in Gulf markets.
- Experience working with government tender processes and public procurement systems.
- Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working effectively in a matrix environment.
