Market Access Manager – East & Southern Africa (ESA), Middle Africa

Your New Role

As our Market Access Manager, you will develop and implement access strategies that ensure patients across the ESA region can benefit from our innovative portfolio. You will play a central role in securing pricing, reimbursement and tender success while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing market access strategies that integrate pricing, reimbursement and payer engagement.
  • Collaborating with finance and commercial teams on competitive costing and pricing models.
  • Communicating strong value propositions to internal and external stakeholders and supporting evidence generation.
  • Leading tender assessment and bid management, including strategy development, submission and post‑tender negotiation.
  • Coordinating across cross-functional teams to ensure high‑quality, compliant tender submissions.
  • Monitoring market intelligence to identify upcoming risks and opportunities.
  • Ensuring full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Your New Department

You will join People, Organisation & Corporate Affairs, a global function dedicated to fostering engagement, building trusted partnerships and ensuring our organisation continues to attract exceptional talent.

Within Middle Africa, be part of the Corporate Affairs department and work closely with Commercial, Finance, Market Access, Business Development and regional leadership teams to drive sustainable access and deliver on our affiliate’s long‑term goals. You will be part of a diverse, collaborative environment where your contributions directly influence patient access and commercial success.

Your Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a strategic, collaborative professional who thrives in a fast‑moving environment and is motivated by creating real-world impact. You bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Market Access, Sales, Commercial or Business Development within pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
  • Strong understanding of payer systems, HTA processes and reimbursement frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing market access strategies.
  • Experience in bid management, procurement or tender processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking, commercial acumen and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an advantage.
