Please note: This is an Office Based position .

Your new role

This is a strategic, externally facing role where you will lead the development and execution of public-sector access strategies for innovative medicines across sub-Saharan Africa. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing market access strategies across priority markets, leading public-sector pathways including government tenders, national procurement systems, and public health programs
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Ministries of Health, national insurance and payer bodies, and regulatory authorities to drive inclusion in Essential Medicines Lists, reimbursement frameworks, and national treatment guidelines
  • Identifying, structuring, and managing partnerships with development partners, multilaterals, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders to design and deliver co-funded, multi-stakeholder access models
  • Aligning access strategies with broader health system improvements, including diagnosis and treatment pathways, healthcare provider capacity, and patient journey optimisation
  • Acting as the central integrator across Commercial, Medical, Corporate Affairs, and Global Access teams to ensure alignment between access strategies and broader business objectives
  • Leading initiatives across multiple sub-Saharan Africa markets, identifying successful models and scaling them regionally in line with our 2030 ambition

Your new department

As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit. Covering 194 countries and 95% of the world's population, more than 18,000 of us work passionately to serve 35 million patients each day. With a promise to outperform the competition, we continue to be the growth driver for Novo Nordisk, and to improve health at scale across the globe.

Within International Operations, the Middle Africa affiliate is a high-growth region with ambitious access and business goals. The Corporate Affairs team works at the intersection of policy, partnerships, and healthcare transformation – combining commercial success with societal impact to expand access to innovative medicines for patients who need them most.

We're looking for a Market Access Manager who thrives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and is energised by turning strategy into tangible patient impact. You'll bring with you:

  • A Master's degree (or equivalent) in Public Health, Health Economics, Policy, Life Sciences, or Business
  • 7–10+ years' experience in Market Access, Public Affairs, or Health Policy, with a proven track record in government engagement, pricing, reimbursement, and tender systems
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing access strategies in African or similar emerging markets, ideally with regional or multi-country exposure
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with senior external decision-makers including government officials and development partners
  • Strategic thinking combined with commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial, solution-oriented mindset
