The Role

We are seeking an experienced Maritime Combat Systems SME to provide specialist operational and technical expertise across Navy platforms, combat systems, weapon systems and engineering processes. This role will support critical capability activities by providing informed advice, reviewing technical outcomes and contributing to complex Defence programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise on Navy operational environments and organisational structures.
  • Support activities involving Combat Systems and Combat Management Systems, including Saab AusCMS and Aegis.
  • Provide advice on naval weapon systems, including maritime guns, missile systems, small arms and soft-kill systems.
  • Contribute to systems engineering activities, capability reviews and technical assessments.
  • Support engineering change, configuration management and mandated system review activities.

About You

  • Current NV1 Security Clearance.
  • Experience working within Royal Australian Navy or Defence maritime environments.
  • Strong knowledge of naval combat systems, combat management systems and weapon systems.
  • Sound understanding of systems engineering principles and Defence engineering practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and technical advisory skills.
