Job Description
Measure, cut, and sew upholstery materials for marine applications including boat seats, cushions, canopies, covers, and enclosures.
Remove old upholstery and prepare surfaces for new applications.
Install custom marine upholstery to fit various vessel interiors and exteriors with high attention to detail.
Fabricate and repair soft furnishings such as sofas, chairs, headliners, and wall panels.
Perform automotive upholstery work on seats, carpets, door panels, and headliners.
Install curtains, blinds, and other window treatments in marine, residential, and commercial settings.
Work with a range of materials including leather, vinyl, canvas, foam, and fabric.
Collaborate with designers, boat owners, or clients to meet specifications and expectations.
Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, cutting tools, and hand tools.
Ensure all work meets safety standards and is completed within project timelines.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in marine upholstery.
Proven experience in furniture and automotive upholstery is required.
Experience in curtain and blind installation.
Ability to read and interpret design plans, templates, and technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of fabric types, stitching techniques, and foam densities.
Proficiency with sewing machines and hand tools used in upholstery.
Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
Ability to lift and maneuver large or heavy upholstery materials.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
A valid driver's license is an asset.
