East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work, delivering essential local services and making a real difference to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We have an established and successful apprenticeship scheme, which has seen over 80% of apprentices stay on beyond their apprenticeships to develop promising careers with the Council. If you are looking for an exciting opportunity where you can earn money as well as gaining experience and a recognised qualification, then look no further!

A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic apprentice to join East Suffolk Council as a Marine Services Apprentice in our Coastal Property team.

The role:

You will provide support to the Coastal Property Team based in Oulton Broad and Southwold, who are responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the Yacht Station and Harbour.

In this role, you will deliver excellent customer service both face to face and via email, telephone and radio, interacting with boat users, members of the public and colleagues. Your duties will include collecting mooring fees, updating accounting records, assisting with the coordination of safe vessel movements, maintaining the yacht centre, and supporting the daily operation of Mutford Lock and Bridge.

What you will need:

You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, an aptitude for ICT and ideally 4 GCSEs at Grades 4 -9 or Grade C and above (or equivalent), including English and Maths. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided, however a passion to be a positive and professional ambassador for the council and provide the best experience for our customers is a must.
