Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd. is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Marine Mechanic to join our marine maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various makes of marine engines and related marine equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain engines used in marine operations
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and inspections
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records
  • Ensure all work complies with company safety policies and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with site operations to minimize equipment downtime
  • Order parts and maintain inventory as required
  • Participate in on-call or emergency repair coverage as needed
  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance practices

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certified Marine Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic, or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience
  • Strong knowledge of marine engines, electrical systems, and hydraulics
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic tools
  • Valid driver’s license (marine certifications are considered an asset)
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and marine conditions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to workplace safety and environmental stewardship

Assets (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in aquaculture or commercial marine operations
  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., John Deere, Cummins, Mercury)
  • WHMIS, First Aid, or Marine Emergency Duties (MED) training
