Job Description

The Marine & Land Vehicle technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting cars, light trucks, RTVs, Diesel Equipment, Marine Equipment such as Jet Skis, Boats and other vehicles. This position will report to the Assistant Technical Manager-Fleet, Celebration Key.

Key Responsibilities/Job Functions

1. Installation and System Setup

  • Assist with the planning of routine maintenance schedules.

2. Maintenance, Repairs, and Troubleshooting

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and general mechanical work on vehicles, watercraft, and equipment.
  • Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment and general mechanical knowledge.
  • Plan repair procedures using service manuals and experience.
  • Test the functionality of parts and systems.

3. Performance Monitoring and Safety Compliance

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly inspections as required.
  • Maintain fuel logs and report fuel levels.
  • Upkeep of the fuel containment area.
  • Fuel company vehicles and equipment.

4. Support and Administrative Tasks

  • Input data into company-mandated maintenance systems and maintain logs as required.
  • Complete scheduled work orders.
  • Explain automotive repairs and issues while providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist with the upkeep and aesthetics of company vehicles as requested.
  • Be prepared to obtain additional certifications as required.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn through hands-on training.
  • Help keep the repair shop clean and organized.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

  • May be requested to work a shift schedule while at any of the destinations.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.

HESS responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to health, safety, environmental protection, and security.
  • Take all necessary precautions, use personal protective equipment (PPE), safety devices, and tools correctly and consistently, as required by the nature of the work.
  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor or HESS representative.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety, as well as that of colleagues and others who may be affected by your actions.
  • Actively participate in HESS trainings and initiatives that promote a safe, secure, and environmentally sustainable workplace.
  • Cooperate fully with company efforts to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Seek opportunities to improve safety and environmental performance in daily tasks.

Essential/Minimum qualifications

  • 2 years automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training required.
  • 2 years Hands-on Marine Mechanic Experience with Outboard motors and smaller watercrafts.
  • Experienced in diesel mechanics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, tool proficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Hold a valid driver license.

Essential experience required

  • Advanced mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors.
  • Physically fit and able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
