As a Marine Hardware Installer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering world-class service for some of the finest yachts. From deck fittings to custom components, you’ll install precision-crafted hardware that meets the highest standard of quality and performance. This hands-on position is perfect for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about the marine industry.

The Hinckley Company, known for building and servicing strong, seaworthy and beautiful yachts, is seeking a Deck Hardware Installer for our production facility in Trenton, Maine. The Deck Hardware Installer installs prefabricated and custom parts such as hatches, specialized marine hardware, metal trim, seats and other parts to complex design specification using power and hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Installation: Install marine deck hardware and other parts from prefabricated kits and/or custom design. Apply caulking compound under spray rails, windshields, and windows.
  • Assembly: Drill holes, bolt hardware, hatches, and other parts. Cement, crimp, and screw parts into place.
  • Layout: Read and layout blueprints and design specifications. Locate hardware position according to specifications.
  • Collaboration: Discuss layout procedures and address any issues with engineers to create alternative solutions.
  • Preparation: Cut or grind mounting bases using electric saw and grinders.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety and compliance regulations to ensure a safe working environment.?Handle all cleaning supplies properly.
  • Other: All duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience: Prior experience in marine hardware, boatbuilding, or related mechanical trades.
  • Physical Requirements: Lift and carry over 25 lbs. and up to 60 lbs.
  • Certifications: Must hold a valid driver’s license. High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required.
  • Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of hand and power tools, including drills, grinders, saws, and measuring instruments.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with marine-grade materials, sealants, and fasteners.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
