As our Forklift Operator, you’ll be at the center of our boatyard operations. From launching and hauling vessels to operating heavy equipment, this role is essential to keep our yard running smoothly and safely. The ideal candidate brings experience in marine operations and a readiness to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operations: Operate marine forklift. Load and unload new boats from transport trailers. Load and adjust boat trailers.
  • Boat Handling: Launch and haul customer boats. Move boats to and from launch area. Secure boats to the docks.
  • Maintenance: Perform daily inspection of all marina equipment. Fuel boats and equipment as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations. All duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in the marine environment performing launch duties.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for a prolonged period of time.
  • Certifications: Must pass forklift training and be qualified within 90 days of hire.
  • Pre-Employment: All applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of marina operations.
  • Able to perform necessary maintenance functions to keep the marina equipment operable.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide a high level of service.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
