About Larchmont Yacht Club and the Marina
Founded in 1880, Larchmont Yacht Club is widely recognized as one of the premier yacht clubs in the United States. Located just 16 miles from New York City on an 11-acre waterfront campus along Long Island Sound, the Club has long been a center for competitive sailing, recreational boating, and family life on the water.
The marina and waterfront operations are central to the Club’s identity. Larchmont Yacht Club manages an active harbor presence that includes more than 350 moorings, launch operations, racing programs, junior sailing, and year-round waterfront events. The Marine Facilities Department maintains and operates a wide range of infrastructure including the main launch dock, a fully equipped work dock with hoists and fuel services, a junior sailing dock, a dry sail yard, and a busy boatyard that supports both member vessels and club-owned fleets.
The department is responsible for maintaining the safety, functionality, and appearance of these facilities while supporting one of the most active sailing communities on Long Island Sound. Marine Facilities staff work closely with junior sailing programs, race committees, launch operators, and club leadership to ensure the waterfront runs smoothly throughout the year.
