We are seeking a well-qualified individual for a position as the company's Marine Engineering Assistant Department Manager.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.

**This is for a remote position, but local to one of the main offices is desired. Main offices are located in New York NY, Philadelphia PA, Arlington VA, New Orleans LA and Newport News VA.

Responsibilities:
The Marine Engineering Assistant Department Manager will report to the Marine Engineering Department Manager and will be directly responsible for the career development and oversight of 8 - 12 employees in multiple locations with potential skill concentrations across shipboard HVAC, Piping, Power Generation, and Propulsion systems. The Marine Engineering Assistant Department Manager will assist in maintaining a properly staffed and trained organization that can competently service the organization's maritime engineering design and research needs in a project environment that covers the full range from conceptual design through detail design and construction, test and trials, and to post-delivery support. This person must have demonstrated success in leading a team of engineering professionals with the ability to see the overall picture and envision how engineering disciplines collaborate and integrate in a multi-project environment to create accurate products on time and within budget.

The Marine Engineering Assistant Department Manager must have experience in establishing an engineering process development methodology, mentoring and training engineering staff, and establishing and monitoring high quality product development goals. This person must also have experience in the implementation and enhancement of the engineering environment using leading edge computer-aided engineering analysis, and management tools and technologies, including proficiency with modern CAD platforms, digital engineering environments, and model-based systems engineering tools.

The Marine Engineering Assistant Department Manager will assist in providing overall technical leadership in management, processes, procedures, methods, training, presentations, assessments, identifying tools, acquisitions, and, most importantly, quality assurance necessary to achieve the technical standards and strategic business plans of the Marine Engineering Department.

Minimum requirements:
The Marine Engineering Assistant Department Manager must have a minimum of 8 years' experience in Naval or Marine Engineering, with at least 4 years of this experience in a management role. Experience at a US Navy-oriented marine engineering service's company is desired. This individual should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical or marine engineering or related engineering discipline. A professional engineering certification is desired.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
