<strong>Job Purpose: <br></strong><br>
</div><ul><li>To maintain, operate, and repair all vessel electrical and mechanical systems</li></ul><div>
<strong>Qualification/Education/Skills:<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>U.S. Coast Guard Licensed (2000 H.P.) with a minimum of 2 years Engineering experience</li>
<li>Preferred experience with Diesel Electric (SCR)</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Good understanding of all maritime rules and regulations</li>
<li>Must possess working knowledge of vessel, and be able to maintain equipment in all areas of vessel</li>
<li>Professional dress and demeanor</li>

<strong>Essential Functions: <br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Overseeing and maintaining all vessel systems</li>
<li>Performing preventative maintenance program on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis</li>
<li>Keeping vessel maintenance records, inventories, accounting reports, and requisitions</li>
<li>Conducting periodic inspections to ensure the crew is observing all U.S. Coast Guard and safety regulations</li>
<li>Making safe and rational decisions concerning vessel operation and maintenance</li>
<li>Recognizing unsafe conditions on vessel</li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Work Environment:<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Interior and exterior of vessel, exposed to extreme weather</li>
<li>Transitioning from deck to deck via stairs</li>
<li>Cramped machinery spaces, including rotating equipment </li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Physical Requirements: <br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Standing and sitting - up to 12 hours per day</li>
<li>Lifting up to 100 lbs., bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing more than 5 times per hour/shift</li>
<li>Acute hearing and vision</li>
<li>Must be able to pass U.S. Coast Guard physical and drug screen (Pre-Employment and Random)</li>
