Job Description

The Marina Attendant is vital in the security policies and procedures of Princess Cays. The Marina Attendant is the first point of contact for guests and diligently assists guests on and off the tenders, through pre-screen checks and provides general direction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure that the Marina and surrounding areas are free of any safety hazards.
  • Assist the security team in maintaining counts on the number of guests leaving Princess Cays to ensure that tender capacities are adhered to.
  • Assist all American Disability Association (ADA) guests to ensure they receive assistance as requested.
  • Ensure a perimeter barrier is established and maintained to safeguard that only screened guests are allowed to occupy the boarding area at any given time.
  • Assist the ship security team with end of day island sweep by communicating with Princess Cays staff stationed at various locations on property to inquire and confirm that all guests are no longer on the island.
  • Assist management and operational team in informing designated personnel on the arrival of supplies to the property.
  • Monitor the waters of the marina and report any hazards or environmental concerns.
  • Monitor all guests and crew departing Princess Cays, and ensures that they are screened by security according to International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) regulations.
  • Monitor all guests disembarking from tenders and ensure that they are directed to appropriate exits at the Marina.
  • Maintain security equipment and assist with crowd control, including during inclement weather.
  • Ensure the safety of the guests and crew embarking and disembarking from the Marina.
  • Assist in the maintenance and sanitation of all public spaces.
  • Assist with any other duties assigned by management.

SKILLS SPECIFICS:

  • Strong customer service skills, ISPS training, and certifications in First Aid and CPR. Key responsibilities focus on maintaining safety, supporting security protocols, and assisting guests, including those with disabilities.
  • The role includes monitoring guest counts and security screening in compliance with ISPS regulations.
  • It involves coordinating with security and management teams to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • The attendant also helps maintain public spaces and manages crowd control during various conditions.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic Education
  • ISPS Training
  • Strong customer service, problem solving, conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Must be certified in First AID and CPR

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Fluency in conversational English,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Guest Facing Experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be physically fit.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
  • All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to multi-task and think critically
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • May be requested to work a shift schedule
