We areseekinga hands-on, detail-orientedManufacturing/Test SupportTechnician to join our New Product Introduction and Improvement (NPI&I) team at our Mount Pearl, NL office. The ideal candidate will focus on supporting production of electro-mechanical assemblies for defence applications. This role is part of the Production Support Team, which includes Manufacturing Engineers, Test Engineers, Automation Specialists, andManufacturing Engineering Technicians.

The ideal candidate willprovidesupporttoManufacturing Engineering,ProductionSupport, Production, and Quality byworking cross-functionally tosolve problems anddrive efficient, high-quality, and manufacturableproducts. This position plays a key role in closing the loop between engineering design, production,quality,and process optimization.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the introduction and refinement of defence-grade electro-mechanical assemblies, ensuring they meet technical, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Manufacturingand TestEngineers Technologiststooptimizeproduct designs for manufacturability, including tooling development, assemblysupport, assembly sequencing, and workstation layouts.
  • Develop andmaintainprocess documentation including work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs),workmanship standards,and visual aids.
  • Provide direct support to production in troubleshooting assembly challenges and implementing corrective actions.
  • Assistwith pilot builds and support low-rateinitialproduction (LRIP) efforts tovalidateprocesses, tolling,and provide feedback foriterative design improvements.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Engineering to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Train production personnel on updated procedures, tooling, and processchanges.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Electrical/ElectronicsEngineeringTechniciandiplomaor a related field; equivalent military or industry experience considered.
  • 2+ years ofworking in highly regulatedmanufacturing environments such asdefence, aerospace, or high-reliability sectors.
  • 2+ years ofhands-onexperience in assembly ofelectro-mechanical productsand PCBs.
  • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical assembly practices, technical drawings,schematicsand industry standards.
  • Familiarity with basic design modification workflows (redlines) and the ability to work from CAD models, schematics, and BOMs.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, and a passion for contributing to process improvements considered and asset.
  • Proficiencywith MS Office; familiarity with ERP, MES, and digital documentation systems.
