The Manufacturing/Process Engineering Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team responsible for Engineering Operations across multiple value streams in a regulated environment. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, productivity, regulatory compliance, and safe, efficient operations. You will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives and fostering a culture of technical excellence and problem-solving within the team.

This position will report to the Senior Manager Engineering Operations and is part of the Global Engineering team and will be an on-site role at our Clare, Ireland site. You can expect to travel up to 10%, in support of equipment improvement projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Manage: Manufacturing Engineers to support Operations in driving performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity. Conduct annual reviews, development plans and appraisals of direct reports.
• Support Production Operations: Provide hands-on engineering support to resolve manufacturing issues, minimize downtime, and ensure smooth operations.
• Provide Technical Leadership: On process issues, implement technical standards and identify projects to resolve complex technical issues regarding equipment.
• Drive Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Implement Advanced Technologies: Evaluate and deploy new equipment and automation solutions to boost manufacturing capability and scalability.
• Ensure Quality & Compliance: Partner with Quality teams to maintain process controls, conduct NC/CAPA, and ensure regulatory compliance. Fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with department and site objectives.
• Problem Solving: Utilize process PSP / DIVE to troubleshoot new products / process / equipment while working closely with cross functional team and/or external vendors.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in: Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience: 12+ years in manufacturing engineering within a GMP environment.
• Process Improvement: Proven success driving Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives; Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as filling, assembly, machining, fabrication, automation, labelling and inspection.
• Leadership & Problem Solving: Excellent team building, coaching, and analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with CAD software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP); industrial automation (e.g., PLCs, SCADA).
• Experience in the life sciences or healthcare industry; and within a regulated industry.
• Knowledge of AI integration with automation, relevant quality systems (e.g., ISO 13485, AS9100, IATF 16949), and proficiency in project management.
