Position Summary

Qnity is seeking a Manufacturing Technology Engineer. This individual will be responsible for leading and sustaining Process Safety Management (PSM) programs while identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, reliability, capacity, and cost performance. Partnering closely with Operations, Engineering, EH&S, and Manufacturing Technology teams, this role provides technical leadership for process safety compliance, capital projects, process optimization, root cause analysis, and manufacturing performance improvements.

This role is 100% onsite in our Parlin, New Jersey facility. Candidates currently living within a daily commutable distance to this location will be given priority.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and maintain site Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), Management of Change (MOC) processes, incident investigations, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
  • Maintain and improve Process Safety Information (PSI), operating procedures, and process safety documentation.
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements that enhance safety, quality, reliability, throughput, and cost performance.
  • Lead or support root cause investigations, troubleshooting activities, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in the development and execution of capital projects and technology deployment initiatives.
  • Support raw material qualifications, product trials, and operational readiness activities.
  • Partner with Operations, EH&S, Engineering, and R&D teams to deliver sustainable performance improvements.
  • Provide technical mentorship and coaching while promoting a strong safety and continuous improvement culture.

What We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing, process engineering, or related industrial experience.
  • Experience working in a chemical manufacturing or higher-hazard process environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading root cause investigations and implementing process changes.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and process optimization skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or supporting capital projects from concept through implementation.
  • Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) facilitation experience.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Integrity programs and reliability improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
