Job Description

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Support Specialist is responsible for processing all engineering and mechanical changes to machine after initial release, including adds, deletes and re-works, for putting together reports that assure machine bills are correct and for processing non-costed parts. This position will be required to interact extensively with the key customers.
Job Responsibilities & Essential Functions of the Job:
• Review and update records when machine designs are changed, removed, or revised by the engineering team.
• Handle and track parts or materials that are rejected during the manufacturing process.
• Investigate rejected parts to determine the cause of the issue, decide what should happen next, and arrange replacement parts if needed.
• Send the necessary paperwork to purchasing or production teams so replacement materials or parts can be ordered quickly.
• Help the warehouse team investigate and correct inventory count differences or missing items.
• Issue parts and materials to employees and receive them back into inventory when needed.
• Create work orders for repairs or modifications to existing products or parts.
• Create work orders that guide the manufacturing team through production processes.
• Coordinate the release of new engineering designs into production and operations.
• Establish expected production timelines for newly designed parts.
• Adjust and reschedule work orders based on production capacity and changing manufacturing schedules.

Occasional Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in picking shop orders as needed.
• Address questions from warehouse on item maintenance transactions.
• Assist in the issuing of material to major jobs.

Job Requirements:
• Requires education generally equivalent to a High School Diploma.
• Requires 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and perform metric conversions.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills in order to interact with employees.
• Must be able to read and understand shipping, receiving, purchasing, engineering and machine shop paperwork.
• Requires a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Must have ability to develop, write and follow procedures
• Must be able to collaborate with others (including in person) to proactively develop solutions.
