Job Description

United Holdings Oklahoma City is Now Hiring a Supply Chain Intern at 10000 NW 2nd, Oklahoma City, OK 73127. The supply chain internship will be a rotational based internship allowing for exposure to multiple groups within the supply chain department, including purchasing, system master data, and order management, as each group supports Kirby’s distribution businesses. The internship program will consist of daily responsibilities, short term projects, and one long term.

Responsibilities

Purchasing:

  • Purchase order creation for inventory at 20+ distribution locations.
  • Expediting parts to address immediate customer needs.
  • Satisfy all open requirements for Ecommerce backorders.
  • Understand the procure to pay process and learning to troubleshoot issues.

System Master Data:

  • Inventory planning based on historical sales and forecast from sales staff.
  • Building and analyzing reports to drive operational improvements.
  • Creating new items to launch into ERP system.

Order Management:

  • Managing cost overruns to make sure jobs are processing through the shop efficiently.
  • Assist sales staff in order quoting and product availability.
  • WIP job creation and scheduling of work through the shop to meet customer delivery time.
  • Arranging inbound/outbound freight.
  • Examples of ongoing projects to support.
  • Negotiations of MRO contracts to decrease OpEx and increase service levels through SLA’s.
  • Consolidating and aligning master data after company consolidations.
  • Partner with IT department to develop artificial intelligence bots to automate item setup process.
  • Identify and evaluate different inventory planning software to improve current process.
  • Develop automated purchase order creation from backordered sales orders.
  • Aligning process and procedures regarding all aspects of freight recovery.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate Excel skills required.
  • Must be able to analyze and provide relevant feedback to improve current processes.
  • Ability to focus on multiple ongoing projects and daily requirements.
  • Candidate must have a strong attention to detail.
  • Must take direction well and be able to work well in a group environment.
  • Required to follow all company and departmental procedures.

Education/Experience:

Currently finishing or recently completed degree in supply chain, finance, or general business.

ASCM or other professional supply chain involvement preferred.
