Purpose

The Manufacturing Supervisor - 2nd Shift role leads manufacturing and distribution activities for EFCO and SwapLoader systems. This role will supervise production operations to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency, while supporting inventory management and employee development. Additionally, this role will serve as a key representative of management on the shop floor, promoting a positive work culture and continuous improvement in support of EFCO's and SwapLoader’s goals.

This is a 2nd shift Manufacturing Supervisor position. Applicants must be willing and able to work from 4:00 PM-12:30 AM CT.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Production Supervision (30%)

  • Provide direct leadership to hourly production employees while monitoring performance, ensuring accountability, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Administer daily production schedules, oversee departmental operations, and maintain alignment with SwapLoader quality and efficiency goals.
  • Apply leadership, responsibility, and technical skills to drive results and employee engagement.

Inventory Control and Department Organization (30%)

  • Manage the layout and organization of production materials, ensuring efficient use of space and inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate raw material flow and finished goods movement to support customer delivery expectations.
  • Demonstrate judgment and organization in balancing workflow and resource availability.

Employee Development and Performance Management (15%)

  • Lead the hiring, onboarding, training, and development of hourly team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, guide career development, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Foster a high-performance environment through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations.

Safety Oversight and Compliance (15%)

  • Train employees on equipment use and enforce EFCO and SwapLoader safety protocols.
  • Proactively identify safety risks, lead incident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Use leadership and adaptability to model safe behaviors and corrective action where needed.

Team Motivation and Communication (5%)

  • Support a respectful, team-oriented work environment by recognizing contributions, resolving conflicts, and encouraging collaboration.
  • Apply oral communication and emotional intelligence to keep employees informed, motivated, and aligned with department goals.

Other Duties (5%)

  • Support special projects and broader plant initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and commitment to EFCO's and SwapLoader’s operational success.

Qualifications

  • Education: College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience: Background in construction, warehousing, or distribution preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and team motivation experience.
  • Computer Skills: Excellent PC skills required.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Strong math skills and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of production operations.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must work effectively under pressure, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • No travel required.

Working Arrangement

  • This role will work 100% onsite at our Des Moines, IA location.

Physical Demands
