Weatherford have a great opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Quality Supervisor to join the team at the East Leake Facility in Loughborough, UK.
The Manufacturing Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the Manufacturing Quality team, ensuring products consistently meet customer, regulatory and company quality standards. The role provides technical leadership to Quality Inspectors and Technicians whilst partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations to drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will ensure compliance with Weatherford Quality Management Systems, API, ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements whilst supporting manufacturing excellence across the East Leake facility.
Responsibilities:
Quality Leadership
Supervise, coach and develop a team of Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians.
Plan, prioritise and allocate inspection activities to meet production schedules.
Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention rather than detection.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews and competency assessments.
Support recruitment, training and development of quality personnel.
Manufacturing Quality Assurance
Ensure manufactured products comply with engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
Oversee incoming, in-process and final inspection activities.
Ensure inspection records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with company procedures.
Review manufacturing documentation for completeness and compliance.
Support production teams in achieving Right First Time manufacturing.
Non-Conformance Management
Lead investigations into product non-conformances.
Coordinate containment actions and disposition of non-conforming material.
Facilitate Root Cause Analysis using recognized problem-solving methodologies.
Oversee the Q-Stop system and actively promote participation.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing quality, productivity and efficiency.
Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
Analyse quality metrics and identify trends to reduce scrap, rework and NCR’s.
Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
Customer & Supplier Quality
Support customer audits and quality visits.
Assist in responding to customer quality concerns.
Work with Supplier Quality and Procurement to resolve supplier quality issues.
Monitor supplier performance where required.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with:

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements
Participate in internal and external audits.
Ensure corrective actions are completed effectively and within agreed timescales.

Monitor and report key quality metrics including:

Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Corrective Action Closure
Audit Findings
On-Time Inspection Performance
Health, Safety & Environment
Demonstrate leadership in promoting a strong HSE culture.
Ensure all quality activities are carried out safely and in accordance with Weatherford HSE policies.
Participate in safety observations, risk assessments and incident investigations where appropriate.
Promote safe working practices throughout the manufacturing facility.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality Management, or equivalent experience.
Experience supervising quality teams within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of quality management systems.
Experience with Root Cause Analysis and CAPA processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
5+ years' experience within manufacturing quality.
Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
Experience in machining, precision engineering or heavy manufacturing.
Experience supporting internal and external audits.
Proven experience managing non-conformance investigations.

Oil & Gas manufacturing experience.
Experience with downhole tools or pressure control equipment.
Experience working within an ERP/MRP environment such as SAP or Oracle.
