Manufacturing Quality Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Quality Engineer to drive manufacturing quality excellence. In this role, you will act as a critical bridge between our US-based engineering/operations teams and our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners in Chonburi Thailand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate and enforce CM quality requirements. Drive the use of quality metrics, 8D methodologies, and continuous improvement actions to rapidly resolve or proactively avoid quality issues across the full product lifecycle.
  • Support all audit types (customer, vendor, and internal CM audits). Facilitate quality sample verification, and Ongoing Reliability Testing/Monitoring (ORT/ORM) activities.
  • Ensure robust quality systems and best practices are fully stabilized for all new product launches. Work closely with cross-functional teams to confirm process stability, volume Ramp readiness, and Return Material Authorization (RMA) preparedness.
  • Support the communication and analysis of customer failure data. Facilitate the generation of customer-facing reports detailing Root Cause Analysis and corrective/preventive actions. Review final Failure Analysis (FA) or 8D reports to confirm the successful closure of issues at CM and vendor sites.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree (or equivalent experience) in Quality, Engineering, or another highly relevant major.
  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in quality or manufacturing engineering.
  • 2+ years of direct experience with optical component assembly
  • Outstanding problem-solving capabilities paired with strong statistical data analysis skills. Proven ability to drive solutions through cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and strong verbal communication skills in English are required to effectively bridge global teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally within Asia, with occasional travel to the Canada as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Thai and English is a strong expectation for effective communication with regional manufacturing partners.
  • Hands-on experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment is highly helpful.
  • Experience in using Quality Management Tools.
  • Advanced statistical analysis skills for Six-Sigma, including DMAIC processes, FMEA, Design of Experiments (DOE), Hypothesis Testing, and ANOVA.
