The Operations Intern will support daily manufacturing and operational activities while gaining hands-on experience in production processes, team leadership, continuous improvement methodologies, and supply chain functions. This role offers exposure to cross-functional operations, including planning and shipping/receiving, and provides opportunities to contribute to impactful projects that improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Expected Duration: May - August

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met

• Monitor workflows, identify inefficiencies, and escalate or help resolve operational issues

• Maintain accurate production data, reports, and performance metrics; participate in daily tier meetings and value stream updates

• Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to support staffing, communication, and overall team effectiveness

• Participate in Lean initiatives such as 5S, waste reduction, and standard work development; support audits and sustainment activities

• Assist with and gain exposure to production planning, scheduling, and material coordination

• Support inventory management, material movement, and shipping/receiving activities

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Self-starter with a strong willingness to learn and take initiative

Compensation

The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $19-20 based on academic school year.
