About the Opportunity
Evantis Talent Solutions is recruiting a Manufacturing Process Engineering Manager for a leading global electronics manufacturing company in Thailand.
This position is ideal for an experienced Senior Process Engineer who has built deep hands-on expertise in SMT, PCBA and NPI and is ready to take greater technical ownership.
Despite the Manager title, this is an Individual Contributor position with no direct reports. The successful candidate will remain highly involved in engineering activities, process development, problem solving, NPI and new technology introduction.
The role reports to a Taiwanese manager, so strong English communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support manufacturing process engineering activities across SMT and PCBA operations
- Support NPI activities from frontend through backend, ensuring manufacturing processes are technically ready for production
- Characterize PCB and BGA warpage and support process optimisation
- Develop, characterize and optimise reflow profiles
- Design and optimise stencils to support manufacturing requirements
- Review and validate manufacturing process and tooling requirements
- Review and finalise custom pick-and-place nozzle designs for complex BGA components
- Provide hands-on engineering support during physical process builds and production trials
- Analyse product characteristics and failure-analysis results and prepare detailed engineering reports
- Evaluate NUDD (New, Unique, Different, Difficult) manufacturing processes
- Review and apply pFMEA and Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) requirements
- Drive technical problem solving, process improvement and manufacturing optimisation
- Support new technology development alongside or ahead of NPI programmes
- Coordinate technical discussions with internal engineering teams, customers and suppliers
- Lead or participate in technical reviews and project meetings
- Support RFQ and quotation activities by estimating manufacturing process requirements and costs
- Work closely with regional and international stakeholders on engineering and technology-development projects
Candidate Profile
- Approximately 10–15 years of manufacturing/process engineering experience
- Strong background in electronics manufacturing, EMS or high-volume PCBA manufacturing
- Deep hands-on experience in SMT and PCBA process engineering
- Strong NPI experience, ideally covering the full manufacturing introduction process
- Currently working at Senior Process Engineer, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Engineer or similar level
- Strong understanding of reflow, stencil design, BGA processes, tooling and manufacturing process optimisation
- Experience with PFMEA, CTQ, root-cause analysis and structured engineering problem solving
- Comfortable remaining technically hands-on rather than moving into a purely managerial role
- Able to independently lead technical projects and influence engineers, customers and suppliers without formal people-management authority
- Strong English communication skills for working with an international management team
