Job Description

This role will lead strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance, productivity, quality, cost competitiveness, and delivery. The role combines strong project management discipline with Lean / Six Sigma–based Operational Excellence practices to deliver sustainable business results.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional strategic, transformation, and capital projects from concept to closure.

  • Develop project charters, timelines, resource plans, and risk registers

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with measurable outcomes

  • Track and report project progress, risks, and benefits to leadership.

  • Deploy and sustain Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and Standard Work methodologies.

  • Identify improvement opportunities across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity

  • Facilitate value stream mapping, Kaizen events, DMAIC projects, and root cause analysis

  • Define, track, and improve KPIs such as OEE, COPQ, yield, throughput, lead time, and cost savings

  • Establish visual management systems and dashboards

  • Ensure benefits from improvement projects are measured, validated, and sustained

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and HR.

  • Lead change management and employee engagement for improvement initiatives.

  • Coach teams to embed a problem-solving and continuous improvement culture

  • Train and mentor teams on CI tools, project management, and data-driven decision making

  • Develop internal CI champions / Green Belts / project leaders

  • Standardize best practices through SOPs, audits, and control plans

  • Drive reductions in waste, variation, defects, downtime, and cycle time

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strong shop‑floor exposure

  • Proven experience in Project execution using Lean / Operational Excellence methodologies

  • Demonstrated success in driving productivity, cost improvement, waste elimination, and scrap reduction initiatives

  • Hands‑on experience with Capex planning and execution

  • Ability to work closely with plant leadership and cross‑functional teams to deliver business outcomes

  • Experience reporting to senior leadership, with accountability for results beyond engineering deliverables

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, standards deployment, and continuous improvement

Desired Characteristics

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt

  • Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent)

  • Strong project management and execution discipline

  • Expert knowledge of Lean / CI tools

  • Data-driven problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Financial acumen (ROI, cost-benefit analysis)

  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and coaching ability
