Job Description

Challenger Lifts, Inc. a division of Snap-on is seeking a candidate that is capable of providing support through various disciplines to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with proper processes. Assist with execution of production improvement projects to increase productivity.

Responsibilities

Work with Robotics and assist with implantation of automation.

  • Design/develop fixtures, layouts, and tooling.
  • Observe manufacturing processes and document as Work Instructions.
  • Assist on floor with maintenance and production.
  • Work with teams in Kaizen events to produce new processes to improve work flow.
  • Communicate with production planning, plant supervision, engineering staff, and operators to ensure that they are informed of manufacturing plans.

Qualifications

Working towards a degree in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or equivalent.

  • Must have an eager attitude to learn and develop new skills
  • Must be willing to be hands on with projects
  • Must be willing to be forklift trained
  • Ability to interact with peers and subordinates.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of:

o Blueprints

o Manufacturing processes

o Lean Methodologies

o Process design

o 6S practices

  • Must have excellent communication skills including written (email correspondence, report writing, etc.) as well as formal and informal presentation skills.
  • A solid understanding of process flow, process design, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to understand and create CAD models and 3D drawings using Inventor or equivalent software.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite products including Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, etc.
  • Must align with the Snap-on “Who We Are” Mission statement.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes; Hi-Vis Vest, Steel Toe Shoes, Safety Glasses or Prescription Safety Glasses (If Applicable), Gloves (If Applicable), and Ear Plugs (If Applicable).
  • Must adhere to safety guidelines
